Has anyone ever read any of those books? I'm on the fifth one which is the Austere Academy.

ive never read the books before. infact, ive never even heard of it until i saw the trailer for the movie. the movie looks strange, but it also looks like it will be very good. of course it will be, because Jim Carry is in it grin2.gif
Dog Demon
I think the books are stupid, and Lemony Snicket sounds like a crumpet, but I might consider seeing the movie.
Mad Manfred
What sort of deranged parent would name their kid "Lemony Snicket"?

The movie looks great...for those that don't know here is the link:

My brother has got and read all the ones that are out and says they are good but I've never read them.

the movie looks good though. Some interesting visuals... Although I have heard from fans of the books that Jim Carrey has hammed it up turning Count Olaf into a bit of a joker. Which is a shame because he is a good dramatic actor as well as a good comedy actor. As I understand it the Count is suppose to be pretty evil and sinister trying to off the kids so he can get their fortune or something. I would have rather seen Jim do that than do it with a comedic edge. Maybe he was told to play him like that though.
