I have an LG VX6000 camera phone, and I'm very happy with it.
It has a color screen, great battery life, and great reception.
It's a $150 phone, but if you buy a calling plan you may get some discounts and rebates.
Mine was basically free after a 2-year plan and a $50 rebate.

Cell phones are lame

i dont know why people like them so much

Nov 12 2004, 06:06 AM
Cause you can use them if you don't have a quarter,or if you get stuck on the highway, and need to call for someone.

And because they are conveniant

If i were you, I would ask the mice which phone to choose, as they will point you to the one that gives you the least cancer.....
That is my thought of wisdom for the day.

then explain why they have internet....why they have games....why they need color and so on

Nov 12 2004, 06:23 AM
I see what you mean. Those add-ons aren't needed. It's just a luxury that isn't really needed.Another way to sell them better.

Nov 12 2004, 06:23 AM
Because everything you buy today is classed as an accesory. The phones arent made so that you buy them for that, which some people do, but have that there in case you want to use it...or so it should be.
There are fridges with internet access, phones are not the only things that are a little weird.....

Having a light is obvious. So you can see in the dark if you need to use one.

It has to look nice. The add-ons that aren't needed are games, and the internet.Although the main reason for the internet on there is so you can download new ringtones and pictures.(which aren't needed, just a luxury)
Janiel
Nov 12 2004, 06:38 AM
it doesnt need to look nice...its a freaking phone....does my house phone look nice? no. does it need to? no...
and its not lighting up, its called backlighting...so you can use it at night....
lighting up is when your phone has flashy lights....
so basically, a cell phone, a basic one, wont cost you $300....it'll cost about $50.....
so, in other words, you did buy those "luxuries"

Nov 12 2004, 08:39 AM
i agree with Janiel. Even the cheapest phone today was considered really good just 6 months ago. Go with the cheapest
Subtemperate
Nov 12 2004, 09:02 AM
Coming from a telecommunications background, you will find that quality is often paid for too. often the phones that are cheapest are harder to use, or have components that seem to be more likely to be faulty then competion. Also be careful of the warranty, as cheap phones often come with a minor one, because they break easily....
Money buy quality, as well as luxuries...

They are a little played out, but they are VERY handy to have when you're out somewhere. And the games can be fun if you're stuck at the DMV or somthing. I just use mine when I go out. But otherwise, they are overrated.

Hi janiel, I appreciate you don't like cell phone and thats cool with me, however i NEED a mobile for my own personal safety in my job, mate i actually need one
I.E two days ago i took some clients out in the car and while i was driving i got attacked by one of the clients as soon as it was safei stoped and got out and called the police and then for back up from my staff team.
To do this i needed a cell, i was on a busy main road with no immidiate help or pay phones ect.
Add to this the fact that i do like mobiles and i enjoy gadets i would really appreciate it if you started a I hate cell phones thread of your own mate and not keep on in this one where i am trying to ask for advice. I am not being rude but i feel i needed to share that with you. I am sure you understand mate
Thank you

its not that i dont like cell phones, its how people go overboard with them, how many people are that addicted to IM'ing people that they need to do it on a phone.....and to throw a keyboard in there makes it that much more rediculous

Nokias (last time I worked in the buis which was a while ago) had the least amount of returns because of faults of any brand, at least here in australia. if you want a reliable phone, I always suggest them.
The model...thats really up to you....

Well as a person who stick to what he knows, lol. I have about 4 or 5 different ones a year… sad but true. Since March I have had 5 different phones. The worst, the N.Gage because it was like carrying a brick around, and it was funny how you talked into the side! Good point, if someone tried to mug you, you could use it as a body shield, or hit them with it!Oh and when you’re bored you play full color games! Still have it if ya want it Lego?
Full color screen.
I sound like a sales rep. lol.
