An award-winning sniffer dog in Colombia has been given a 24-hour bodyguard after threats "to kill her as soon as possible". A police spokesman said: "I know it sounds funny to assign her a bodyguard, but she is really worth protecting."

In our local news today we had a guy who bit a police dog. He was being pursued by the police for not paying a $9 cab fare.

its actually pretty common for animals in the line of duty to be hurt by ppl.... police horses are attacked, ppl also drop marbles on the ground which causes them to fall over... dogs are hit and kicked at.. the list goes on.. its pretty sad to think we are supposed to be a smart species, and go around doing such horrible things to creatures

Some animals are beat by their animals so badly that I wanna cry

They beat them with shovels and hammers, kick them, starve them, rip off parts of their body like ears.It is so sick. The cruel owners should get the same kind of beating and see how they feel.

Some horrible animal cruelty...

Some horrible animal cruelty...
Bluddy cripes... those pictures made me feel ill... spew bucket time.... How can anyone do that to any animal? Imagine how some of these people would be towards another human too...
Why bother going to the trouble of having an animal to share their life if that's the best they can do... I can never figure that one out... So many things are totally beyond my comprehension... sometimes it's easier to have my head stuck in a hole and not know or see....

Those people are sick in the head, and the crappy cruel owners should be beaten to death.I love animals,so it is hard for me to see this. But it is reality, and some people are that cruel...

I always wanna help animals cause they can't talk, and they can't really fight back. When they are starved for a week, and beaten with a sledgehammer, they can't fight back, whick is so sad.

Too late.I have already been appointed.

If you wanna my guard, well I guess that would be fine, but you would have to fight the Siberian husky/wolves in my sig. They are my protectors.

I love dogs too... and cats... and any animal or creature really... I dunno... I think I have second thoughts maybe.... not so sure really....
Coz maybe it would be hard to love something like a leech particularly if one has invited itself to lunch on your foot I reckon...
Gotta think about them flies too... had one fly down my throat today and those slow clutsy ones dive bomb in your food and die in there when you're not looking....

i just want to say that it is sad that us humans take advantage of dogs and beat, starve and tourture them yet they still insist on trusting us. i seriously dont c y after cing those pics from b4.
i really feel sry for them and i pity the owner because they could have had a really good dog, a loyal and trusted friend and then they do that to it.
i hope more ppl feel the same and that we can do something about it
luv ya all

putting a death threat on an animal is quite odd. It's also pretty pathetic

If someone did this to a person they'd be in jail for life or even better dead. But if its an animal they get a fine or go to jail for a year or 2 or a ban on having pets but thats not gonna do much
