The Council of Nine
I can't be the only that puts his head in his hands sometimes and asks "WHAT ARE WE DOING"....!

What do I mean...well...I very rarely read the paper or watch TV anymore I find it sooo depressing...How can a race be so "intelligent" but be so stupid...what is the point of having a mind if no one "especially people in power" uses it.

Are we too intelligent for our own good...?

Sorry i've had one of those days mad.gif

I reckon a few Stellas will numb the pain...If you can't beat them join them..!

See you all Mon . biggrin.gif

We may be stupid at times, but never underestimate the only intelligence we know of.

I'm constantly amazed by what others do. So far the most amazing things I have seen people do are either on the RealTV program or behind the wheel of a car. When you drive you should pay attention to the road and those around you, but I think the complacency that driving is so mundane that people actually forget they should pay attention. I have seen people eating chineese food while driving with chopsticks to pulling on a pair of pantyhose. With the ever increasing number of cars being sold world wide I wonder when they will start to call driving not driving but doing anything else but driving.

ya, like watching the news last night and seeing Israeli's shoot a crowd of Palestinians with a tank gun. there were firefighters and a crowd around a building that was on fire next to a gunfight that was going on. well, the crowd of children must have been a threat because they blew them up with a tank shell. lovely dinnertime TV footage.

i thought the exact same sentiment of this thread- how can we be such jackasses to each other. its absolutely sickening and disgusting.

Yup I understand what you mean. I often wonder where are we leading ourselves to and what shall I do...petrified in front of the mass ignorance of each other. I'm afraid of the world my children ( if I have this luck! ) will be living in!

The world is falling apart. always has been, it's entropy folks. I hate the news, although I watch it all the time. It's like a reflex. The best any of us can hope to do is to take care of ourselves and those close to us, to make our part of the world as bright a place as we can. Can't worry too much about things we have no control over.

How come noone in Palestine ever walks into the chaos and screams "just f---ing stop!!!!" You'd think it would wear on a body. Are they so deadened to the violence that they just don't care anymore?

I think the problem is that we're not too intelligent, but that we are not
intelligent enough.

Possibly our academic level is advanced, but our emotional intelligence and
psychological intelligence (and dare I say it 'spiritual' intelligence) are all way too
low.

In time we'll get there.
