Deadly Nightshade
A Chakra is a spinning vortex of subtle energy....The term comes from the sanskrit word, Chakram, which means "Wheel," because these centers appear to clairvoyants and yogis as whirling disks of light.....
The system of subtle energy channels and centers is the basis for the Meridians and energy points in acupunture, yoga practices energy healing.
There are eight main chakras, located in a line aligned with the spine. These centers connect the physical body with that of the subtle body.......
The eight chakras are located in the crown of the head, the forehead (third eye chakra)the throat chakra, the solar plexus, the base chakra, the base of the spine....the genitals and beneath the feet (earth).
When the chakras are functioning properly, the physical body and suble body are in balance and harmony.

Technito
The body has seven chakras. The term “chakras” originated from the northern part of India during the early 12th century. The scriptures on chakras were written in an ancient Indian language called Sanskrit, which is assumed the mother of all Indian languages. According to ancient Hindu mythology, chakras are energy centers located on the surface of the auric body. Chakras are the whirlpools in the auric body that act as transmitters and receivers of energy. Chakras are the link between the physical body and its spiritual counterpart. I can type nearly 5000 more words explaining chakras, but unfortunatley I don't have the energy.

No I dissagree Technito as this is one of the areas I work, therefore, I have a lot of knowledge of this. There are 8 main chackras and if malfuntions occur, this may lead to physical, mental, emotional or spiritual disturbances. Maybe this is why you feel you don't have the energy. Many energy workers believe that the chakras can be healed by interaction between the vibrations of crystals and the energies of the body's Biomagnetic or subtle field.

Deadly Nightshade,

I was wondering where you got the source that we have 8 chakras. I have been studying them for quite a while and working with them too. And I came upon the same basic information as Technico that we have 7 main chakras. We have a lot more than that, but these are the main ones. This his the information that I came upon on all the book I read and sites that I read about.

The eight one that I think you putted in your list his beneath the feet. They are chakras as big in our hands too. When opened in the hands, this his when we feel the magnetism around with it and can learn to do energetic healing.

But from what I came upon the biggest ones are the first seven you whrote down. If you disagree, plz explain and if you can give a source all the better. We never stop learning with these things wink2.gif
