In case you guys didn't hear there is a National Directory of Cell Phone Numbers coming out soon. It seems now that you can have the same numbers with more than one service it was inevitable. Now the telephone solicitors will be getting your cell phone numbers added to their lists. I honestly don't see how they can do this. Are you expected to pay for the minutes wasting your time with a telephone solicitor?

Anyway, if you want to put your name on the national no call list for your cell phone you can call 1-888-382-1222. disgust.gif Here we go again.
BurnSide
Thanks for the warning. I will be giving that number a call. Is it toll-free?
Dancing_Dumplings
laugh.gif and there is another reason why i dont have a cell phone tongue.gif
Magikman
Yes, it is considered a toll-free number, in the states anyway. Of course you don't want to call it from your cell phone, that isn't free, only from a land line.
BurnSide
Of course. original.gif Thanks.
Michelle

I don't know if it's going to be in Canada too. So far all I heard was for the US but you probably wouldn't be too far behind.
BurnSide
Probably not. I'll look into it abit more for Canada, see what i can dig up.

Lol, if it goes out, just don't answer when you see an 800 number. That way you don't waste your minutes. Honestly it won't affect me any different, I mean, I actually thought it was already out becuase I get about 2-4 telemarketing calls a day on my cell.
Deimos
well, my friends have designated ringtones. If it's not from them, I'll leave the cell off
Michelle

Yeah firefemme, it's okay if your not running a business and a lot of your contacts have 800 numbers. And most phone solicitors aren't calling from an 800 number anymore.

I do help run a business, but business associates dont' call from 800 numbers, but you're right, I'm sure in cases like that, some businesses would call from 800 numbers. And yes, like I said, telemarketers have been calling my phone for like a year now, and I have friends who this happens too, and my co-workers, but it doesn't happen to everyone I know, and as far as I can tell, they call from 800 numbers. Or 866 or 877 or blocked or unknown, but mostly the 800,866,and 877 numbers. Guess it's time for people to start getting call blocker and telezap for the cells lol, if it can be done original.gif
Michelle
Then it'll be like land lines...pay for caller id...pay for call block...pay for this...pay for the counter of that.

I wasn't talking about business associates calling from 800 numbers I was talking about vendors. If telemarketers, so far have been calling, it's because they got your cell number from a source you deal with not a directory.

Oh, gotcha, but yeah, you're right, that's why I thought the directory was out. But now I know. But yeah, this is all in the attempt to boost the economy, make more money, because Bush is trying in vain to put more jobs for people out there and the way he does that is to piss off all the Americans because he can't create any other jobs, so he does this because telemarketing is nationally known.
Michelle
Wow, I didn't know Bush was the publisher. laugh.gif
firefemme1202
He might as well be grin2.gif
snuffypuffer

Thankies Michelle for the heads up! thumbsup.gif This might be a topic off but a couple of months ago my parents and I were coming home from viewing a lottery home. And some guy called me on my cell and I told him it was the wrong number. So the dumb idiot called me two more times on my phone! disgust.gif I didn't pick up. I guess he didn't get the clue the first time around now did he?
