Alright so this is what happened, one night this past summer 2 friends of mine and I went to this party a girl in my grade was throwing. We all rode our bikes there and planned on biking back to my house to stay the night after the party was over. Well the party ended around midnight, so we decided it was time to bike back into town. This girl's house was roughly 5 miles out of town if you take the shortest possilble route which involved going through an old old bike trail that ran through the woods. All three of us biked for a few minutes, just talking about random things, until we came to the fork in the paths, one direction was the main road that lead into town which if you stayed on this added another mile or two onto the distance into town, and the old dirt path which was so dark you literally couldn't see a foot in front of your face. We stopped there and debated about it for awhile and decided that we should stay on the main road as you couldn't see if their were any potholes or loose rocks in the path. We made our way down the main road for roughly I'd say about 50', then out of the corner of my eye, a few feet into the woods between the path and the main road, I saw something pure black, blacker than the darkness of the path. I stared at it and could make out a humanoid figure, and it seemed as if it was staring back. Then it slowly raised what looked like it's arm and pointed at us, it continued to point at us until my friend broke the silence and said "Dude do you ****in see what I see?" and to my surprise both of them saw it to. Right after that we all just started pedalling as fast as we could and as we did I saw the creature bolt back into the woods towards the path, I could even hear the twigs snapping and the rustling of the grass and leaves as "it" ran. After we got about a mile away from it we started talking about it and both of them saw the exact same thing I did, a black humanoid like figure pointing and staring at us.

Anyway what do you guys think, shadow creature or somebody playing a prank on us????

How close did you get to it, any odour, height, sleek or rough looking?
I'd like a bit more info before making a guestimate.

If you say it was so god damn dim there that you couldn't see practically anything how can you say for sure it wasn't a bear. When a bear stands up in dark and when you are at the same time in motion, it closely resembles a human figure.

A little tidbit: When you hear a whistle and clapping near you in the woods, better not start running cause its a bear!

I said the pathway through the woods was pitch black, mainly cause the trees formed a canopy blocking all light, which is why we decided to take the road which had a enough moon light, so we could follow our way down the road.

This thing was just on the edge of where the moon light was able to get through the trees. I'd say it was pretty big at a around 6'-7', I couldn't make out any eyes, but I could feel that it was staring at us. Also a wee bit of info I forgot about cause it really doesn't seem all that important, but a couple hundred feet further into the woods from the path is an old abandoned cabin, no ones ever around there but some people like to dump old garbage there. I don't really know if anyone has lived there recently, but who knows, maybe an old hermit lives there now.

Your description of the height and the garbage around the cabin points straight to my first thought of the black bear.

its a shadow man they are every where most are friendley if you saw it with its red eyes you better run like hell they hang at grave yards at day time and night time maybe it was a ghost also

Not that its a shadow people thing, but I remember when I was between 8-10 when I was going to sleep, and drowsing off, when I looked at window where a ovalish headed thin being waved at me... I became scared and ran to my mom who was on the computer, and when I came back it was gone. I still have problems with looking out windows at night.
