Okay, first and formost I don't want anybody to take this the wrong way. but I know it may happen anyways... (sigh)

I was looking around through all the little forums on here and I realized that all these people are completely nuts! The People in Metaphysics talk about all the different types of "kinesis's" like everybody on their block has mastered at least one type of power if not a couple... The crypto-critter forum brings up a new creature story or experience every day at least, and conspiracies flow like water on nearly everywhere in between, regardless of how crazy and far fetched they may seem.

Now I know that this entire site is focused on the paranormal, and that a certain level of weirdness is bound to occur. However, I can't believe the level of people here that accept so many of these stories, experiences, beliefs, and sometimes crackpot ideas as either fact or reasonable behavior.

I'm also not saying that some of these stories are false either, because truth is most often stranger then fiction.

I dunno, maybe its just me being skeptical, or maybe its just the culmination of so much of the bizarre in one place, but I think some people need to step back and look at reality.

DISCLAIMER:Monkyburd is in NO way asking anyone on the UM forums to return to reality, just a suggestion.

Nothing is wrong with being skeptical in fact, skeptics are welcome here. Just like everyone else, your oppinion is respected. As long as you follow the forum rules you can post anything you want. You can express anything you want.

Just play nice with others and try to get anything positive you can from the people here. If your motive is to put others down and call people names then perhaps you are here for the wrong reason.

as for me, I read and if it his way too far fetch I do research on my own too see if there his any validity behind it.

But yes some things look a bit exagerated, maybe they are not...who knows....


I for one stay far away from conspiracies.....they his almost no way to really investigate these.....always more questions than answers...

just in hopes that not too many people have fun tellings lies.....the paranormal his already hard to study and believe. these people do not help its validity....

This site is called Unexplained Mysteries after all. therefore, it includes paranormal experiences, spirituality, etc......
Im sure I speak on behalf of my spiritual brothers and sisters and anyone else on these boards too.......
These stories are very real.....
also the topics started up each and every day are essential for us all to learn........
Many of us share a great interest in these threads and a variety of different responses are often put forward....
I think that you are a very close minded young man too, however, I do agree with Girty, that skeptics are very welcome here, but are you just skeptical or are you mocking us all???
If its the latter that applies to you, then I dont think you should be here at all.

There are a few UM forums I dont touch namely the conspiracy forums. Things like Jesus is an alien, or an alien killed my dog and then resurrected my dog so my dog must be Jesus, or I am an alien from the planet jeknorlwqerderjog and i have proof because Jesus told me so, etc. Those people are crazy, but some(not all... probly not even most) of the things about psi are real, otherwise the CIA wouldn't have been interested in it for military intelligence. Thats not a conspiracy theory either the CIA admitted it.

You just gotta try and 'tune' out the kids RPGing about super powees and stuff.
As qufzoo said 'They're just playing a game'. Alot of stories about these silly powers or encounters with ghosts and unidentifiable animals are so obviously oozing lies and attention-seeking whining that it gets pretty easy to get ignore it after awhile.

First of all, Nightshade, I'm not mocking anyone. I'm just saying the way some people talk on here it would seem the unexplained and fantastic happen casually everyday.

I've been on this forum for a while, I just haven't said much, I have seen others get totally rocked (aka banned, bitched out, mocked, ect.) when they have far-out or conflicting opinions and know people are touchy when it comes to their ideas and beliefs.

Ah, I see your point. Yes, the first post had traces of mocking in it, but I was just trying to get my point across. I just can't believe that so many forums talk about such wild rare things like they happen everyday. Plus contraversy is a good way to gain attention. Where would psychology be without Sigmund Freud?

Anyways, I just think a bit of what occurs on this site is the effects of hype as well, people seeing something amazing or different and just want to be part of it, regardless of what proof is there to support or deny it.

The only reason why I joined this site is cause I though someone might think that beliefs were real and then agree. And now for example on the ghost's and paranormal thread there is so many threads that always askes the same questions. "How do you know that ghosts are real?" "What ghost's really are." And that sort of thing. If I told my sister and brother my beliefs they would laugh at me. Hell each time that Montel Williams has Sylvia Browne on his show on Wednesday's my sister rolls her eyes and pokes fun at me and makes fun of the Unexplained Mysteries show on tv. I think everyone now and then needs some place were they can vent and tell their stories. And the reason why I don't go to some forums on this site for example the Metapyshics thread is because I don't know what the heck a psi ball is! And no I don't think anyone on this site is normal! I remember one guy who thought he had a troll (I think that was Burnside who said it but that was ages ago) in his basement. And yes we might meet (yes I use the word meet) on this site who might have fare fetched and out of this world beliefs and ideas. But we should just sit back and relax and be happy that we can clown around and loose what little we have left of our sanity.

I think it's a given after the oxymoron titling of :"Unexplained Mysteries forum" (Mysteries are unexplained, that's why they are mysteries. When they are explained they are no longer a mystery!) Consequently you get people that play the game someone else initiated with the advent of such a title. Thing is, if you are smart enough to call most of the content on this site BS, you are smart enough not to take any of it seriously, unless of course you're bored and wish to post a thread asking, "why do you people believe this crap?"
