Godzilla, doesn't the name say it all? Godzilla is my favorite thing that is on T.V.. It's probably because that was the only thing i watched whenever i was little. And i just think that we should pay a little tribute to the Big G. Since it has been 50 years since the first godzilla movie came out and since then he has had over 28 sequels. Which is the 3rd longest running series of movies in the world.

But what i think is unique about him is that even today there still making godzilla movies. Godzilla Final wars is having a hollywood premiere on Nov. 29.

So this one goes out to all of the Godzilla fans out there. thumbsup.gif
Dog Demon
That's weird lol, because my sister and I rented the PS2 game Godzilla: Save The Earth yesterday. Coincidence!
Talon
Godzilla is good.... and would so whip Kongs a$$!
TheCrow
Well with Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong due for release next year and Final Wars coming out soon and the growing trend of vs. movies maybe we will get a (remake of) King Kong vs. Godzilla.
Talon
Godzilla had better win tongue.gif
Tia

Daughter of the Nine Moons
Some of my favourite memories are of watching the godzilla movies as a kid original.gif

The only great Godzilla movie that I saw was the one where Godzilla wasn't a puppet. I know Japan has better technology than that, the US one in New York was probably the best one I saw.
Talon
I did like the US one, I wish they'd do a sequal. I'd also like to see Final Wars

What's also weird is that I was playing MGS3 and it was mentioned when I saved, and that he turned 50 in 2004, if I recall. That game is awesome, by the way. So Godzilla.
CrazyHarry
You noticed I did not include GINO(Godzilla in name Only) in my list. I should have included Zilla, the new Gino in Final Wars. But that monster wasn't even Godzilla like. No beam powers. Just a cab caught on fire and blew up during his roar. And he humps and molest inocent buildings!
~Nemesis~
Well this may sound nerdy but is anybody else on this site a godzilla fan? I mean of the games or movies... Yes... Nerdy indeed....
Deception
Yes, I am a godzilla fan. I have all the movies, but tokyo SOS, Godzilla vs MG3, and Final wars.

~Nemesis~
Sweet thumbsup.gif. Sadly, we can't buy that many godzilla movies here:no:. The only ones I have are The Original on VHS in black and white, and Godzilla VS Megalon, also on VHS.

If I ever go to Mexico City for a week, I may have to borrow one off of you tongue.gif.

So whats your favorite godzilla monster?

Personally, Baragon is my fave.
snuffypuffer
I, too, am a big Godzilla fan. I have about half of the movies, maybe a little less. Have to rebuy some of the on dvd. My favorite monster, besides Godzilla himself, was always Gigan.
~Nemesis~
Well lucky you. Its really hard to find any good Godzilla movies in my town.. *sigh*... Have you seen Gigan in Final Wars? He looks way cooler.
~Nemesis~
So there are godzilla fans, but this isnt just about godzilla people.

Sonic? Anyone for Sonic?

I acctually dont like sonic that much. I like Shadow thumbsup.gif
BurnSide
I don't see what Sonic and Godzilla would have in common.
It would be better to make a seperate topic for each, rather than having confusing conversations about both at once.
~Nemesis~
Good idea, but I dont know how to change a topic... Im just too lazy to make 2 at once... Thought this would be easier.
Talon
We already have multiple Godzilla forums, why not just revive one?

BurnSide
Thank you Talon. I'm going to merge this.

Nemesis, how about you start a Sonic forum, and this one will be for Godzilla. thumbsup.gif
~Nemesis~
I dont know how to change the name of the topic though......
BurnSide
No need, i've merged it with an old one.

Yoshimitsu Banno, who directed the ecologically cautionary 1971 film Godzilla vs. Hedora, will once again direct a Godzilla film that warns of the dangers of a polluted environment. Advanced Audiovisual Productions Inc. will be producing a 40 minute long film titled "Godzilla 3D to the Max." The film will be shot specifically for 70mm Imax theaters and will star Godzilla and new monster "Deathla."

The American version of Godzilla was total crap! Sorry, but when it comes to the big guy, you really have to have a dude in a suit doing battle with all sorts of crazy nonsense. When Hollywood got hold of it and tried to make it all CG and believeable, they sucked the soul right out of the franchise. As far as I'm concerned, that wasn't Godzilla at all, just a big iguana who deserved to die at the end.

Remember this?!

Kong wins :]

I have this, as well as a handful of other Godzilla movies, at home on VHS LoL

A real Godzillas fan would have known there are 2 versions of the film King Kong Vs. Godzilla.

The American version when you saw both monsters fall in the water you hear kongs voice and see him swimming away. The original Japanese version you hear both voices signaling it was a tie! I dont know why they did not have a shot of Godzilla swimming in the ocean or walking on the ocean floor. But Ironically enough the directer actually wanted Kong to win becasue Godzilla was considered evil then, but he did not know how too do it. So they edited the movie for us Americans and gave out a pr statement trying to end the debate by saying kong won.

Oh, no... there goes Tokyo, there goes Godzilla!

Godzilla is a very good song by Blue Oyster Cult grin2.gif
Pelican_Eel
oh, I loved godzilla as a kid! I think it was even better when godzilla was a puppet...it was funny...I remember one movie in which godzilla fought with a giant butterfly grin2.gif

Whoa!

You got me there.

I know in Japan the movie was named "Godzilla vs King Kong" where as in the US they named it "King Kong vs Godzilla" LoL

And yeah Godzilla was suppose to be evil, and Kong was suppose to be good. But I never knew it was suppose to end in a tie. Thanks for the info.
