This isn't a cryptid. I came across this pic when downloading pics of various animals on limewire. I just want to know what it is. huh.gif My husband and I have no idea. Maybe one of you guys can help me out? tongue.gif

Looks like a type of Tamarin monkey.

That is an Emperor Tamarin (Saguinus imperator) and is native to the lowland, evegreen, and broadleaf forests of Brazil and Peru.

monster hunter x is correct that is a capuchin monkey. they come is several different shades of white/black/grey small about two to three feet weighing probably no more that 20-30 pounds, vegetarian, shy, seeking playful companion for walks in the dense forest, friendly grooming......

As it was said before, it is the Emperor Tamarin, not a capuchin

It has a funny story concerning its name: When it was discovered in 1907, the first specimen was taken to be stuffed, the guy who did it(I don't know the term for this job) thought that the ends of its moustache are pointing upwards. With this slight altering, the monkey resembled the Prussian emperor, William II. This mistake caused the name 'emperor' grin2.gif
