Anyone who has seen the the movie, The Boondock Saints, should be excited about the sequel. The first movie is not known by many people, but everyone who has seen it should like it very much. for the people on here who have not seen the first movie (which should be most of you), ill explain the movie without giving away too much of the plot. ok. It is about two Irish brothers who live in Boston. they are very religious. on Saint Patricks Day, they are at the local pub with their friends when a Russian mob boss and 2 other members come in and say they are taking over. then theres a big fight. afterwards, the brothers discover that an entire Russian mob plans to take control of Boston. the brothers will not stand for this, so they begin to go after every mob connection in the city and kill them while also deciding that they will kill every criminal and wrongdoer in the city. at the same time, a Boston Police detective, played by Willem Dafoe, is trying to figure out who is killing off the mob.
Ok, well thats the basic plot of the story, but that doesnt give anything major away.
Every fan of the movie has been long awaiting the sequel, All Saints Day, for quite some time. although, the official site says it has not yet started production, which i find hard to believe, because it has said that for quite some time now. however, the message board is completley different. the plot of the movie has been revealed in it and it is as follows: the brothers and their father have been hiding out in Ireland for 3 years when someone in Boston commits a devastating crime and frames it on the Boondock Saints. then the saints must go back to boston to fix everything that has been wronged. well thats pretty much all i know. if you want to know more, then go to
http://www.theboondocksaints.com for more info. if you have seen the first movie, then lemme know cuz its always great to know there are more Boondock fans out there!
o yeah, a little side note. if you are going to view the site, i suggest you turn down the computers volume when the intro plays.

I think the name is really stupid and doesn't do much justice for The Saints really.
All Saints Day. Lame.

why is that lame? i see nothing wrong with it.

It just gets under my skin. It sounds all bubbly and cute but Boondock isn't like that, yanno?

Oh, and your explaination of the first movie is a little off.
After they killed the people who were trying to kill them in self-defense and turning themselves in, they stayed a night in the cells remember? Because they chose too. While in the cell, they recieved a 'message' from god.
After this they believed they were on a mission from god to kill all the bad people in the world. Perverts, murderers, etc etc. The mob stuff gets tangled up with their actual mission.

Nov 25 2004, 01:24 AM
yeah i know what you mean. dude, do they sell the NC-17 version by you? i dont think they have it here and i would really love to own it. more violence! like, at the end in the courthouse when they kill Yakavetta and splatter his head all over the place, they would actualy show them doing that! that would be kick ass!
but yeah, they probably could have chosen a better name for the 2nd movie. besides, i dont like saying Saints twice in one movie title. lol.

ah yes, that is true. forgot about that. thanks for adding that. i dont know, but they might be a little crazy, believing that God wants them to do that, with religious as they are.
BurnSide
Nov 25 2004, 01:36 AM
Quite possibly.
Well, you know those interviews at the end of the movie? If you were interviewed, what would you say?
I would say 'Sign me up.'
Shakezulah
Nov 25 2004, 01:40 AM
lol thats EXACTLY what i was going to say! infact, one of the guys at the end does say that. i just watched it again today so i remember

but yeah, if that were to really happen, i would completley agree with them and what they were doing. i would have wanted to be the one to kill Ron Jeremy tho

Yeah, i'm afraid i'd be a little biased towards killing a few celebrities myself.
Shakezulah
Nov 25 2004, 01:53 AM
me too.
i hope all of the regular cast is brought back for the 2nd movie. its gonna suck without Rocco tho... but yeah. Billy Conolly didnt have a big enough part in the first movie, so now i hope they make a larger part for him. i know this wont happen, but id love to see the bartender again. "F**K! ...ASS!"

that guy was great. i also hope they bring Willen Dafoe back. he was great in the first. and hes just a good actor all around. but what was the deal with him in the movie? he was like...a gay homophobe. that made no sense.
BurnSide
Nov 25 2004, 01:55 AM
hahaha. He was openly gay to himself, but not openly gay to his colleagues. It was an... interesting character that nonetheless worked rather well. I hope they bring him back too.

Nov 25 2004, 02:06 AM
ugh god, remember that part at the end when he open mouthed kissed that guy who thought he was a woman? you god see him licking the inside of his mouth and stuff! that was nasty as hell! but that right there ..you know how gay he was then. now thats what i call true actor commitment

i liked the part where hes talking on the phone while that guy is laying with him in the bed trying to cuddle with him. and Smecker keeps hitting him on the head. then hes like "what the hell are you doing?" "im just trying to cuddle!" "cuddle?....what a fag"

thats so funny!

Nov 25 2004, 02:08 AM

Man, has no one else seen this movie??
Shakezulah
Nov 25 2004, 02:17 AM
lol i guess not! i mean, i know not everyone knows about it, but i thought that there would at least be more than you and me! i mean, my dad, several of my friends, one of my dads friends, and my bro, who introduced this movie to me, all know about it. pssh...there has to be more people. how many people do you know know about this movie?
BurnSide
Nov 25 2004, 02:18 AM
Myself, Chantal and two of our friends watched it.
That's all i know. It's such a shame it wasn't marketed better.
Shakezulah
Nov 25 2004, 02:22 AM
seriously, that should have been released in the theaters. or they should consider doing it now for people who dont know about it. im sure it would do well. id probably go see it there too. who knows, maybe the 2nd will be a cinema release, but i highly doubt it with the lack of popularity of the first movie.
BurnSide
Nov 25 2004, 02:28 AM
yeah probably not.
i don't understand the reasoning behind just sending it straight to DVD with no marketing or anything. this movie could have made MILLIONS in cinema tickets alone, but because it went straight to DVD Aliens VS Predator made more money than BD Saints.
Shakezulah
Nov 25 2004, 02:33 AM
dude, theres probably some direct to dvd Disney movies that have made more money than BDS. i dont even know how they can afford to make a sequel. but it IS Fox and they have millions to spend and its been years since the first movie release...so i dont know.
BurnSide
Nov 25 2004, 02:35 AM
When was Saints made?
Shakezulah
Nov 25 2004, 02:41 AM
it was made in 1999 but was released in early 2000. that left a lot of time to think of a sequel tho.
BurnSide
Nov 25 2004, 03:00 AM
Yeah, 4 years. But then again, as you said, no one really expected a sequel to come.
Shakezulah
Nov 25 2004, 03:12 AM
well the news that there is going to be one has been around for quite some time on the site now. any true fan of the movie would have probably looked for a site so most of the fans must have known. you should check out the site later on when you have time. its pretty cool. and check the merch section. they have a lotta cool sh** including the p coats they wore in the movie, shirts with the MacManus family prayer on it, zippo lighter, and a shot glass bar set that loos real nice.

someone on the Boondock message board has said that all of the major actors have signed on to reprise their roles, except for Willem DaFoe, which really sucks cuz he was fantastic in the first movie. as far as i know, filming on the new movie has still not yet started.

I've seen the movie a while back and am glad they’re making a sequel. Although, I would say I expected it after the court house scene.
Shakezulah
Nov 30 2004, 02:11 AM
alright! another movie fan! overall, what did you think of the movie?
i also kinda expected a sequel with that whole courtroom speech. but whats really lame is that the sequel hasnt even started production yet. i hope they at least start it before the end of the year.

My opinion of the movie is it’s a great movie. Maybe a bit strange at times; (E.G. Willem Dafoe in bed with his Asian buddy) Never the less, still a great film.
I give it two thumbs up.

yeah it would be cool to be in something like that. killing people for a good reason! but i wouldnt be so sure they are making the sequel. there hasnt been any info on it at all. it still hasnt started production which sucks. i hope they start soon. they better at least have the storyboards done or something. but still, i am pretty excited that there will be a sequel at least some time in the near future.

So the reasoning behind it[Putting it out on dvd] it would have been right after the columbine shooting, and for some reason they had to pull it off big screen and put it to dvd.
Great movie.

damnit that will suck. well Dafoe isnt in the immediate cast list anyways. plus, the whole story isnt completley finished and it hasnt started production yet so there is still a lot of room to change things around.

Oi Oi,
I am new to this forum but already at this moment i like it.
The Boondock Saints is an incredible, aggressive and bit shocking movie but still has a good story, great actors and a lot of awesome scenes.
I have the NC-17 Movie (In Holland it's called 16+) and it has some good extra scenes but what i read about Papa Joes brain wich should splatter around in the courtroom is not right. I think becouse then even the NC-17 would not be sufficient (in Holland they would rate it at 18+)
This movie has strange addictive ways and everytime i watch it i keep on loving it.
AND... I cant wait for "TBDS: All Saints Day" to be unleashed at the cinema's
