BRIDGETON, N.J. -- A Cumberland County, N.J., family made a shocking discovery as it was preparing for their Thanksgiving dinner.












Diane Hall and her family found a turkey head inside their frozen turkey.

"I went to pull it out and it popped out in the sink," said Hall.

At first, Hall wasn't sure what it was but her nephew, Eric Loatman, knew exactly what it was.

"I said, look, there's the head. She said, 'No, it's not.' I said, 'Yes, it is, see the eyes, nose and beak,'" said Loatman.

"It's gross, sickening," said Hall.

She checked the wrapper to see who distributed the turkey and called Heartland Foods in Minnesota.

Hall was told Heartland was bought out in 1997 and no longer used that label. She said she was told to freeze the turkey and someone would pick it up.

But Hall said the turkey head is a tough image to get out of her mind for Thanksgiving.

"We're going to cook but we're going to cook ham. We're not going to cook any more turkeys in our house," said Hall.source

LOL! I dont blame them, that image would be sickening and enough to turn you off turkey for a damn long time!

That's not as nasty as the fried chicked head that someone found in their chicken nuggets!

For everyone saying "EEWWW GROSS" Don't ever go to a traditional Chinese resturant and order the whole chicken. It comes out all nice and sliced up... with the head right where it belongs (severed ofcourse)

What's so differet about finding a head, then the jiblets? Heart, liver.. gut.. gizzard.. neck... *shrugs*

I would have kept the head. It really isn't that gross to me. I mean, its not like it was a severed human hand or anything. It was part of the turkey at one time (hopefully ). My granny used to raise chickens on her farm and we saw them with heads and feathers, live and running around like pets, before we ate them.

I agree with Girty and SilverCougar, it's all part and parcel of the turkey.

How much different is it from the rest of the turkey? And yeah the fried chicken head inside the chicken nuggets. I also read somewhere that this lady opened a can of chef boyardee and found a human penis sitting inside the top. Now thats disturbing.

People are just trying to avoid the fact that they are eating a living thing, that's like avoiding seeing the truth. It's like when the guy in survivor catched the pig and eat it, (of course everyone went; ew that's sick!...but what the happens when it's the silence of the lambs?)

A human penis in a chef boyardee? That must have been one hell of a can of pasta or one dinky little piece of human anatomy....

I know some chinese people that would have thought that was a bonus,they pig and cow brains and strange seafood all the time

I'm allergic to turkey anyway.

What would have happened if the turkeyhead froze to the body and they family stuffed it? Would have been an interesting turkey dinner!

What is so gross about a turkey head? what you can eat part of the turkey’s ass and eat stuffing out of it but you can’t look at the head? Seems very infantile to me.

I hate to get all of you sick, but I have to tell this little story. One day, the department that I work in, all went to lunch at Holiday Inn in downtown New Orleans. Well everyone sat down to eat. My boss, which was a female, had ordered a salad. She began to eat and noticed that there was something different in the salad that she had already started to chew on. She pulled something out of her mouth. After looking at it, we realized it was a rat's tail. Everyone at the table got sick. That happened a few years ago and she does not like to talk about it, at all.

Sorry if I just made some of you sick, but I had to tell it and this is a very true story. Anyway, there was a nice lawsuit involved.

oh man.. ppl need to get over it.. its just another peice of the turkey... you have to pull part of its @rse out anyway if you stuff it... they just got an extra bit of turkey.. and now everyone will want it...

omg how gross a turkey head inside a ....turkey....wow what a discovery *yawns* if it had been an alien or a mini jc complete with cross and 12 apostles that MIGHT have been interesting ....

well thats kinda gross.........i wouldnt wanna find the head.....

i kinda doubt that the turkey wanted loose it in the first place ....you can get really attached to body parts.
