Full Version: Enoch predicted the end

So, you've all seen the Day After Tomorrow, right? I mean, that will never happen right? Don't be so sure. Enoch said in the end which would NOT be in his generation, but THE end of all things, that for the first time ever the seasons would change, there will be extreme heat, mountains (which could also just as well be iceberg mountains) will melt like candle wax, etc. Sounds familiar.
Global warming aside, when the sun eventually does explode, it will become a 'demon sun' burning red, taking up half the sky, killing all life on Earth, and yes, melting ACTUAL mountains (again this is taken from a Discovery channel documentary), so, either way, he still saw the end when the Earth was just beginning.

The End
by The Doors

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again
Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In our...desperate land

Lost in a romance...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah
There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby
Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold
The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest
The blue bus is callin' us
The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us ?

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
"Father ?", "yes son", "I want to kill you"
"Mother?...I want to...#@*% YOU"

C'mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin' a blue rock, On a blue bus
Doin' a blue rock, C'mon, yeah
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end, Beautiful friend
This is the end, My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

I can imagine that song being played everywhere and all over the radio during the real end. It is perfect for a poetic and sad demise or defeat, well at least the beginning parts of the song...

well "I did it my way"/"Here comes the sun"...I mean we're all about to die why depress, we had a good run, right?

technically our sun would absorb earth centuries before it explodes, if it is unstable enough to explode at an early stage it may also turn into a black hole...which isn't good anyways.

My dad used to play that song like crazy, I know it backwards lol. He's a Doors fan obviously.

You need to read up on your astro physics kikuchiyo. The sun does not have the mass to turn into a black hole. Our sun is a main sequence star, which means when it comes time to explode it will leave behind a white dwarf, a super small super dense, and super hot peice of helium. If the sun was twice its size when it explodes the massive forces at its center would punch a "hole" in the space-time continuum that would consume all matter and energy(it would be a black hole).

Smeg, I looked it up and it too weak to even explode properly, according to what I read they basicly said; when it's going to be unstable enough, it's will shed it's shell like a onion.

Weak sun, i would of hoped someone thing more impressive. It would have to be 8 million time bigger for it to give us a nice "supernova" final episode.

I could still hope for something nice like a black hole passing by and swallowing up the sun, giving the "black hole sun" song a whole new meaning.

Ok, well all I saw on the documentary was that they said, like I said above, the Sun would take up half the sky, would turn burning red (they called it the 'demon Sun') would kill all life on Earth, and they said themselves, would melt mountains. Didn't say anything about it becoming a black hole or absording the Earth, in fact they believe the Earth will still exist long after the Sun is gone, but will have no life and will be a desolate place.

Sorry, didn't mean to quote you directly, just hit reply cause the fast reply thing wasn't working properly.

Demon sun probably refers to the red giant, which is believed to eventually happen to our sun in approximately seven billion years from now and yes it would vaporize us, just from the sheer size of it.
