If you had to create a Religion what FIVE tenets would your Religion have?

I'll start the ball rolling...

Tenets of the Church of Vox (Better name to come):

1. A belief in God (any abstract form of God will be acceptable, whether it's Judeo-Christian, Islamic, 'Sun-worshiping' if you think it is an entity , the universe with a conscience, etc).

2. A burning zeal to progress with current medical scientific studies.

3. A militaristic order where combat arts and weapons training takes place (just to protect the 'research' of course!).

4. A complete and active understanding of ethics, and emapthy towards your fellow humans.

5. Adopted from the Christian Bible - 'Love thy neighbour' (it's a good rule).

I think there'd be a white dragon somewhere happy to know there's a religion named after her. *shoves her gamer geekness back into a box



Geodomiua - Earth and nature worship. (from me? gasp!)

1. You must respect Mother Earth, and her body, her children, and all nature that is.

2. You must give thanks to the Great Spirit for life, and it's abundance.

3. You must respect to our brothers and sisters, the animals that also share this planet with us. That cow or chicken, no matter how it was raised, gave it's life so that you may eat.

4. Give thanks to the plants, they too share this world with us, and without them, we would have no food, or air.

5. You must live in peace with eachother. Respect other's beliefs, not force your own as the only right. We are each different, we each have different needs.


There would be a few more, but you said five. So nyea!

Janiel's Religion: Presubunconsciousnesslessism

Long name yes, but let me explain...

1. You must Worship every word i, or you make.
2. All thanks must be delivered via FedEx
3. Every word you create for worship must be ok'ed by me before worship
4. Pepsi is the only cola you can drink
5. You can do anything else in the entire world!

The only sin is to not have fun, and to drink coke

None of this is really new. It can all be found in the many religions that are already on Earth or were.

To create a religion one must think of something completely new and revolutionary. So great it blows your mind away and you just have to convert to it.

We already have all the religions we need, Now all we need to do is combine them into one and take action.

I know! I'll write a book so full of metaphor and rhetoric in an ancient language so that, when I had it over to be translated, they'll make such a dog's dinner of it that it'll come out as grabbled rubbish that people will somehow believe!

Oh...wait...that's been done before...

Ah! I know! I'll raise an army, and travel the world slaughtering everyone who refuses to convert to my religion! Thus ensuring my wordlwide spread!

Oh...hang on...that's been done too...

Ah, this time I've really got it! I'll steal things from other belief systems! I'll make the gods of other religions the cheif villains in my mythology, and adopt festivals and celebrations from other religions to make the transition easier when I try and convert them!

...uh...wait...that's been done as well....

Oh well, maybe basing myself on Christianity wasn't a good place to start...

A religion where you don't have to go to church.

Maekrixism

1.You must do my bidding all the time
2.You must fast for one day and one night when brought into religion (for children born into it, they must wait until 12 years old)
3.You must pray at 2am and 2pm everyday
4.You must be kind to all others (unless I say otherwise)
5.You must life your life happily and must die of a natural occurence (basically meaning no suicide, you have to die from an accident or old age or something not of your own doing).

In my faith, the word "ligion" is actually the name of a very speciffic demon. I never knew it was a word for constructing one's own religion.


Anyways, here's the religion I would construct:

The Chruch of the anti-consumer-whores

1.) All cd's and recordings in which a person's voice in unfairly altered, or in which the artist in question wore an amount of makeup that made their natural form unrecognizable, would be burnt. This includes ever boy band, Britney spears, Avril laveine, Jessica simpson, Ashlee simpson, Fifi dobson ect.

2.) All holidays, charactors, and songs which orginate from a company trying to make more money would be banned and exhiled. This includes Rudolph the red nosed reigndeer (Created by Maceys) The Red and White Santa (Created by Coca-cola) Valentines day, mothers day, ect.
(amendment: Mother's day would be kept, but all gifts sent to mothers would not cost anything. Admit one per customer.)

3.) All advertisements would be confined to "ads only" channels on television, and "ads only" sections of malls. People would never have toi see an advertisement if they did not want to.

4.) Stars or famous people appearing in magazines or on media would be banned from wareing any makeup, or having their photo's touched up by any means. Our young women will be given a correct display of what a woman looks like.

5.) All traded goods would be traded on a straight line of finance. No goods would be produced in a third world country to be sold to the first. ALL consumers must have the same price (according to their dollar) of all goods in question.

Orthodox Girtyism

1. Be nice to your mom
2. Stop thinking that the world owes you something because your life might suck
3. Faith in a higher power would be helpful, unless you think that YOU are a higher power then therapy would be helpful
4. Do not condem other religions just because you do not understand them
5. Live by the words: An open mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Why do you take pleasure in the insult of others beliefs? Would you treat a buddist or a muslim the same way you treat a Christian? Honestly, would you? Because if not, you are a very prejudice person, and not at all politically correct.

Oh, you mean the middle eastern religions who suicide bimb innocent women and children in accordance to their faith?

Oh, wait, surely you meant the crusades, and handful of which happened hundereds of years ago by decieved radicals who were not following God whatsoever. But that seems to be enough for you to condemn an entire following. Keep in mind I could easily condemn your beliefs, but do not do so out of respect.

I assume you arer talking about Roman Catholicism, widely regarded as the mainstream christian authority, though completely unbiblical.

Does not every religion have it's lunatics and radicals? Would you condemn every american muslim for sept. 11th? I should surely hope not!!!

Perhaps basing it in your distorted beliefs of what christianity might be was the problem, because all the christians I know would never act in any way close to what you have described.

On the contrary, it is completely relevent, for many christians in our day and age do nothing but contribute to the kingdom of lucifer. The crusades, which were not of God, did spread christianity, in complete negativity.

Comndemnation of your beliefs would be me saying "your going to hell", "Your an idiot", "Your totally wrong". What I was trying to do is add facts to facts, furthering understanding of what happened.

Not knowing your definition of a Flame war, i would not know where to begin. I will however defend what I believe in by peaceful means. If that is a war, than i suppose I am a soldier.

If you took it that way, then that is your own doing, and I am open to any discussion to reconcile what you took to be insulting. However, if me expressing my beliefs is an insult, then I'm afraid I cannot help you.

my philosiophy

1. Always trust that first reaction, for it is the most pure/ but make sure it has proof and is good to the innocent , if you have any dought, give yourself a few minutes to gather thoughts, then make a plan, exicute and feel good about yourself

2. Speak up and say you mind, whats the point of holding your tounge if it only hurts people you care about?

3. Whats life with out fun? Dance to your own beat, if its off who cares.

4. Fight for whay you belive in who else will. The proper office of a friend is to side with you when you are in the wrong, nearly everyone will side with you when you are in the right

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. you will have your heart broken, probably more than once, and it's harder every time. you'll break hearts, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. you'll fight with your best friend. you'll blame a new love for things an old one did. you'll cry because time is passing so fast. you'll eventually lose someone you love. so, take too many pictures, laugh too hard, & love like you've never been hurt, because every minute you spend mad or upset is a minute of happiness that you'll never get back.
