I tried auto-writing at school today, and i started making weird symbols, one looked like a cursive e on its side and then there were others in normal writing but the "e" was kinda creepy, does anybody have an idea what it would mean? im sure it wasnt meant to be normal e just a typo by a spirit cause the rest was non cursive, so any ideas? maybe its a rune?

Tried this once. Got "I want to....." and not much else. Problem with me is that my handwriting's awful enough as it is, so my automatic writing is hard as hell to read.

i have no answers for you but something sort of like automatic writing happened to me at school 2 years ago. i was going thru something really horrible and had been hurt quite badly (emotionally, not physically lol) and i absently mindedly wrote something on my page without thinking and when i looked down, it said "time" almost as if thats what i needed...like time heals all wounds type thing? weird but thats what happened...i didnt even know i was writing til i looked down...odd, but hey

My friend had a terrifying experience on Psilocybin Mushrooms, where three different entities enetered his mind and forced him to write. This first was a benevolent entity asking if he wanted to be friends. The second was a malevolent entity which was cursing him, the name of God, and the previous "entity". The third was that of a woman, which my friend tried very hard to reject, because he didn't want a female entity taking over his person. I was semi successful in his attempt, and prevented the full possesion of his being.
He is the closest friend I have and has experienced things with his mental disorders and his drug abuse that most people could never believe. I however can distinguish between his truths and lies because of our connection. He wasn't lying.
Which scares me.

I'm completely consious, so I guess it's not auto writing...
I wrote this when I was bored once, here it is anyway:
If time is an illusion caused by change,
does it mean
that there is no such thing
as time?
What if
everything
that has happened,
will happen,
and is happing now,
is happening at the same time,
because there is no time?
The only way
we can prove time exists,
is by measuring time;
by using time.
So how can we prove
that time really exists?
We see change, not time.
Believe it or not,
there is no time.
There is no beginning,
nor an end.
Why can we see no end
but not see no beginning?
Infinity exists because
there is no time where it stops.
But few people realize
that infinity must go
both ways.

That is a very good poem one of the better ones i've ever read. I think that this came from your mind and emotions about time? I suggest you post this on the 'poems' topic.

Time not existing was first preposed by a swiss scientist who's name escapes me right now. I read it in the paper when I was about 16, and is fascinated me to a degree that I started trying to formulate my own theories of why it didn't exist. however, now I believe that time is the movement of matter through space. Time can only be truely stopped if all matter is stopped.
Infinity does need to go both ways. A difficult concept to wrap one's mind around, for sure.

I've never really thought of it as a poem...

I just wrote it like that so it wouldn't be so confusing. The thoughts just kept coming one after another, and eventually it ended up as a really convincing point. I didn't start it with a particular goal in mind.

As I said before, during automatic writing, the subject almost looses control of their hands. This almost always occurs when very deep into a spiritual trance, or at veryhigh stages of meditation. Simply randomly scribbling anything down isn't automatic writing. It might be considered a form of random art, or just plain old scribbles. Whena two year old scribbles illegibly on a page, it isn't considered automatic writing.

Creative writing can come from Automatic writing, right?
See, if you just happen to write down word without even thinking of them, like you speak but you don't know what your speaking of, there may be chances of your writing to turn out to be one of your best.

Sometimes when I'm writing notes in class, my hand writes down random thing inbetween the notes that I don't notice until I read it over.
Like, "To study the living world, biologist need to observe new shoes smell pleasant cells and cell parts, analyze..."
Like that. And in the middle of my notes, some profanities happen to appear.. I think arwen and house might know which ones those are

I don't think I would consider that automic writing though
_hAiLO_
Dec 4 2004, 12:46 AM
Would not automatic writing be caused by another force other than your own mind?
I mean, writing down your thoughts without thinking of it, something like what Syaoran posted, is probably not automatic writing.
But could automatic writing be someone of a spiritual entity having you write down what is wanted

?
