I'm asking because I've noticed that during the week (when I have to go without enough sleep), I have serious trouble doing psi. It's like something is blocking me from doing it. It could be something else, but I want to be sure.

Nordics spot on Anon. its becoz you have no energy left its all spent and gone so you cant expect to be able to do anything...
If it's like the psychic area, it's recommended not to do anything while tired, sick ,depressed etc. Don't know if it's the same for psi.

Any mood has the ability to seep it's way into what we are doing. I think it would be best to practice ability when one is fully rested, and content/happy.

Absolutely. I tend to only practice when I'm alert and in a mood that isn't negative. Getting more oxygen to your brain helps, and that's why everyone suggests meditation -- to clear your mind, yet keep it alert through the breathing exercises.
By the way, never practice when you're stressed.

It tends to make me worse at whatever I'm practicing. And if I try to practice when I'm tired, it only drains
more energy out of me.

Weak minds can and will always give you weak results. Bettering the auras will help with psionics. And to do that, number one REST. Get 8 hours of sleep at night, drink plenty of water, and eat vegetables that contain potassium and iron.

Well I personally know that I don't pick up on feelings near as well as I do when I am rested and feeling well.....I think perphaps that is why most of my preminitions come in dream form. So to officially answer your question yes it is affected by lack of sleep/rest.

I agree, and doing it at any time drains your chi. So it's better to do it when healthy and rested, and by no means do I mean doing psi at any time is bad for your health... exerting at anthing when tired isn't recommended.
Bless.

Um, from my own personal experience, I disagree with pretty much everyone here. Granted, I don't practice, it just happens when it wants to. Generally, though, it happens more when I'm stressed out... Go figure.

Extreme emotion? The tendency to concentrate beyond your normal concentration rate?
Focusing your energy more(angered) or feeling more relaxed, letting your energy loose(sressed). Normal concentration wouldn't convince your mind to work harder because your mind is just in a state of normallity, you just try to release energy...no specific focus?
~Yet another of my deragned guesses...

Yo. Extreme emotion can unlock vaults in our minds, humans find it hard to totally believe something 'paranomal', we are programed in the possible and impossible, and any wierd ideas-like a child who thinks they sees spirits-are stamped on early, so sadly the child locks it away feeling dirty and unclean... the child may fall into depresseion and find it hard making friends as the aura around them is closed off to the world, the would-be friends can sense this-on an unconsicious level- and stay clear.
Very sad.

Actually, yeah, something like that. I'm not good with the technicalities here, but it's something along the lines of fluctuating energy levels. This mainly applies to EK, by the way. When you're feeling particularly emotional, your energy levels are going to do some fluctuating. In this fluctuation, your EMF or brain waves or whatever are gonna affect other energy producing things. Or something like that...
As for telepathy, precog, and all that, well I've been studying non-stop for the past few weeks. I'm very tired, very agitated and etc, and still I'm having normal levels of precog/telepathy stuff going on. Just an hour ago, in fact, before I saw my friend (who I'm studying with now), I just knew she would be wearing a pink shirt. Just knew it as fact. It's easy to see why people think fatigue would have a negative effect on this stuff, but I don't really think it does. Maybe fatigue affects practicing it? Like your ability to concentrate?

Yes, I think fatigue does affect the concentration. When I'm fatigues, especially when I'm reading a novel or something, I get weary and I just put the book down and sleep

.
Thats because when I feel fatigue, my mind allows more thoughts in it. My mind becomes more accessible to invading thoughts and I don't know what i'm reading...if I did, it would have escaped my mind before I read the next paragraph.

I suffer from more or less sustaining fatique and still I have to be able to perform more or less within the standards set by the surroundings regarding both physical and spritual requirements. I think it's possible to learn to target the energy in more focused way. Of course it's not good, but for some it's just another fact of life.
