Insight
Futurama, the perilous adventures about 20th century Fry, One-eyed space captain Leela, alcoholic loudmouthed robot Bender, and senile crackpot scientist professor Farnsworth. The Midas touch of Matt Groening lets sci-fi fans and simpsons fans alike unite under one glorious banner of cosmic hilarity. And after 5 glorious seasons, IT WAS CANCELLED FOR A SHOW CALLED "OLIVER BEAN".

Am I the only one who thinks this is so insane it should be criminally tried in a world court? I mean, oliver bean for god's sake! That show didn't even last a whole season!

The mass populous has now become my enemy. Good shows are getting cancelled for another episode of "Reba". Original comedy is abandoned for another scripted "reality" show. The minds of the masses, so shriveled and impotent from years of TV radiation, are waging war on creativity. It's a war I take personally, being an artist, and an avocate of creativity. And I'm not going down without a fight.

Everytime I go into "BlockBuster Video", I purposely hide or turn around any MaryKate and Ashley Olson movies, any Sex and the City DVD's, any britney spears concert videos, any any other hollywood hogwash that actively reinforces the worn out sterotypes that acts as a virus in my veins.

It's getting out of control people. I have satellite TV. I get 500 channels. And I quite literally have to look through every single of those 500+ listings to find a single show I want to watch. So I'm rebelling against the polluted media.

I fighting the war anyway I can think of.

I download the TV shows I want to watch now. You don't have to watch commercials that way. You can watch the episode anytime you want. I download the movies I want to see. That way I'm not forced to watch 30 minutes of advertisements and trailers before it starts. I refuse to pay for music anymore. The record companies have enough money. And the artists, if they were REAL artists, they wouldn't be consumed by money, and would simply want to practice their art form. I draw and paint because I like it. If someone wants to buy one of my works, they can. But I'm not going to photocopy a million of them and peddle them to wal-mart. That belittles my hard effort and one of a kind art. I won't whore myself out to the highest bidder. Art is about emotion and communication, not about making as much money as possible so you can have the nicest toys.

So, in conclusion, I say this: Don't buy music, unless the muscian is a REAL artist, and you support him. Don't pay for movies, unless your taking your girlfriend out for a nice time. And boycot TV. The beautiful part of buying a computer is that after you do, everything is free.

I am a media pirate.

And damned proud of it.
