Full Version: Psychic Ability or Just Coincidence

Ok… Frankly most of the psychic stuff confuses me as I don’t know much about it. I don’t mean that as an insult by any means. Just stating straight forward all my knowledge was covered in a couple episodes of X-men as a child. However a few of incidents over several years and a lot of family joking lately has led me to the decision to post a few experiences here. Lol, I might just be crazy and these might just be coincidence. Just wanting peoples view point on them, and also to know if I do have some sort of psychic ability, if there is anything I can do to try and develop it and control it.

Basically when I was younger I didn’t get to experience much of anything out of the ordinary except for a few things that were passed off at the time as just oddities. Such things as me and my parents arguing, I would stalk into room, throw myself on the bed, and then the door would slam shut which was a good 10 feet away from my bed and further from the window, when the door never shut by itself due to wind or anything. Or things like I would be extremely upset, and all of our dogs would come in front of my door and growl at anyone who tried to enter. Just random things like that.

However in the last couple of years since I have moved out and been under a lot of stress, the incidents have become more frequent with odd things happening. The two of the most obvious incidents happened when I was fighting with my fiancé in our new apartment which was our first time living together.

The first one happened when I was cooking dinner. I was cooking chicken in a Pyrex Glass pan as I had always done. I was arguing with my fiancé for some stupid reason, (people argue when they move, its like a law or something) and placed the hot pan on two pot holders on the counter. My fiancé came into the same room as me, and I put my hands on hips as the argument grew more heated. Suddenly the glass pan exploded, less then 5 inches away from me scattering glass all the way across the kitchen, in sizes about the as big as a quarter. There was only one decent sized corner left on the counter, about 4 inches long. Despite having been so close, and having glass fly all around me, I none of it had touched me and I had no cuts or marks of any nature.

The second incident happened a couple of days later. Once again I was angry and trying to get ready for school and work that day. I was arguing and upset about something, I don’t even remember what. My fiancé and I were standing in the kitchen once again yelling, when across the room from us our laundry detergent bottle exploded. It flew off the shelf and landed on the floor about 3 feet away. It was one of the large 5 gallon type jugs and was sitting above the washer on a shelf about ¼ of it was already used. It was the type that you sit side ways, and it has a little spout for pouring. The shelf was pretty sturdy as it was built into 2 foot thick concrete wall. Surprised I went and picked it up. There was soap all over the ceiling, floor, inside and outside the closet. The back of the bottle looked twisted, and the cap was busted in two. We simply cleaned it up and stopped arguing.

Anyways both of these incidents, combined with smaller ones such as stuff exploding, catching fire, tipping over, and such when I am angry, has convinced my family over a period of time that it is not a good idea to piss me off. And it has become a common joke around the house.

So I guess in the end my questions are.

1. Does anyone have a clue as to what could be causing such?
2. Is there any way to test what might cause it?
3. Is there any way to control it? Cause frankly my stuff is to expensive to keep replacing and the insurance company doesn’t believe the excuse “I don’t know I was standing 3 feet away when it happened and no one was close to it!”
Curiosity
I'm curious about a couple things: before the detergent bottle exploded, what was it sitting on? And what exactly were you cooking? I think heat might have something to do with this...

I believe your story, and it is possible that your stress triggers these incidents. However, it's important to go through the details first before we jump to any conclusions. wink2.gif
Insight
I would definately factor heat into this. Glass cooled unevenly, even if it is pyrex, is very subject to breaks. The ware may have had an unnoticable defect somewhere in it. As for the soap, there may have been a chemical reaction inside it. Perhaps the lid was on very tight, and depending on temperature, or other chemicals that may have gotten inside it, it could have produced gasses which in turn blew the lid off. Of perhaps the lid was closed during a cold day, and upon it heating up, it expanded and exploded. I'd really have to have more information and future examples of these occurrences before we could rule our natural phenomena, and start looking into supernatural happenings.

The detergent was sitting on a cement shelf and was pushed compeletely back against the wall. There was no way for the shelf to have shook or anything as the wall was about 2 feet thick, cement, and below ground. There were also several round objects sitting on the shelf that never rolled off. Such as lint rollers, downy balls, moth balls, and other things. It was the only incident of anything ever "falling" off the shelf.

I was cooking about 1 lb of garlic marinated chicken breasts. There was maybe 1/2 inch to an inch of the garlic marinade in the pan with the chicken. I had cooked the exact same dish at least twice before at that apartment and who knows how many times at my other home.

And no offence taken. Lol, I only half believe myself and if you can disprove then WooT I am not weird. Alot of the stuff could be explained away. At first we blamed the chicken pan, on difference of cold and hot counter. But I dont think that would have been an issue with two pot holders between it and counter. Lol, but if it is something I can control, then thats good too. I'm tired of stuff exploding. sad.gif

You don't argue with your fiance too much, do you? Or are you stressed often?

(By the way, how do you make an accent mark?)

Let us know if something strange happens again. thumbsup.gif

I would suggest instead of focusing on controling what may or may not be a power, you should focus on controlling your anger and not fighting with your spouse. Never let the sun go down when you have an unresolved issue. Never. I have heard this from every happily married couple I have ever known. I'd hate for you to ever become another statistical number in america's already high divorce rate.

Hey Dreamer,
Wow, it sounds like you've been through a lot. I have similar experiences, with electrical things.
What's helping me through it is finding peace and balance in my life. Also facing fears. You should look to address and overcome anything in your life that is unbalancing you, or causing you excess stress or fear. Meditation helps a little. So does examining the big picture. It's kinda hard to give advice without more info, but it definitely seems that these incidents are real, and are due to your fluctuating stress and emotional levels. Learn to control those, and you will learn to control what sounds like your pyrokinetic ability. Good luck, and keep us posted!

I'm pretty sure it's a girl. original.gif

It kinda sounds like you have pyrokinesis, if it is anything at all. If the glass gets to a certain temperature, it shatters. My friend wanted pop corn and put bird seed in our microwave (Lets just say.. She isn't a bright one) and the glass plate shattered into pieces the size of quarters. And with the detergent, a spark could have set off the chemicals inside and blew open the detergent, causing it to slide.

But I'm not sure, maybe run some tests? Try and purposely get angry then try and move things in that state. Or light it on fire. Be careful though!

Who knows? Maybe it's just some weird coincidences or a psychic power! thumbsup.gif

No no, don't get purposely angry! Anger is very unhealthy for you!

You might have pyro, or you could have telekinesis. Once when I got REALLY mad(I don't get that mad often!!!) Three things in my room just fell from where they were, and they had been sturdy. That's was my first sign that I might be able to learn telekinesis, cuz all the other times I tried had the object that I had been trying to knock over were like totally still! But now when I practice the object quivers, but doesn't fall over yet!

Thanks for the help. Right now is just a stressful time in my life. I think everyone has these phases. Senior year of college, moving, finals, working full time along with all the other stuff that is included in life. It is really hard to just say "dont stress" or "find a balance" when every day a new curve ball gets thrown.

If it is pyrokinesis or telekinesis or blowakinesis up.... lol, could you point me to any informational topics on these subjects? So at least I can look for myself. I know there is information on this site already about it. But its just soooo much. Any help at a good starting point would be much appreaciated.

It is hard, but believe me, it can be done.
Do you ever feel tingles in your hands or feet? This may sound strange to you now, as it did me back in May or so when I was going through my awakening/ordeal (I was finishing up my first year of med school). But some time this summer I started feeling the tingles. They progressed to a tickly, burning, electric sensation that would just flow, for like ten minutes at a time. And it felt really good, kinda euphoric. Anyway, if you can sit and clear your mind for a few minutes every day, even like at traffic lights or something, and just think about energy flowing through your hands, it really really helps. A lot. Stress produces blockages in your psi energy flow, hence the little blow-ups. If you can let the energy flow to break up the blockages (I know this sounds really weird, but trust me, it's true), it'll help balance you. Try it.
As for finding info, you're right, there's a ton in this forum alone. It's really up to you to do the research. Just use the search engine and look for pyrokinesis or telekinesis or whatever interests you. I suggest looking up the Chakra centers as well. And just stick around for a while, soak up what others' have to say, ask your questions, and post your opinions. Hope to see you around! thumbsup.gif

heh Insight that remidns me of a Savage Garden song line "I beleive the sun should never set upon an argument"

well i cant really say anythign sad.gif (tongue.gif) coz Whisks, Insight and Sya and Guffy have all said them! but its best to look at the logical side until there is no way there can be one original.gif

i know anger is unhealthy but sometimes its the onyl way to prove if your power is there and how to control it... then control your anger at teh same time to stop it and practice it.... sounds confusing i know but still... i had to do that with ek though i still have a bad temper ^^

^I think that works clap.gif . Go get your self angry, it lets your psi out...

This sounds like you are "poltergeisting" to me. What I mean is that when people get angry or heightened emotions sometimes poltergeist activity occurs esp in teenagers. You may be having spontaneous telekinesis happening. Your sub-conscious does random telekinesis maybe to stop the arguement or to express your anger. You should meditate and stop arguing and perhaps try telekinesis you could be a natural. thumbsup.gif

why thank you Hailo grin2.gif

interesting point Dave... but poltergeisting? isnt that a little far?? a poltergeist isnt anything.. demon, spirit or ghost... ex. my dictionary merely states thus: "a poltergeist is an invisible force which is believed to move objects or throw them around" which is saying its not you but another force/i suppose 'being'

Well I think it might be linked a bit to my telekenetic experiences.
Once I was walking my dog and at the back of my mind i was thinking "Get back here" (As he was pulling the leash to hard) Then all of a sudden the dog practicaly lifted up and went flying behind me. I freaked out but my friend was laughing.

I don't really think the dictionary is the best source for the definition this time. Something has to control this force. And this is also a force which doesn't seem to abide by order or peace. it is mostly through fear and chaos.

I pick things up from people too. I can tell when people lie, when they are happy or sad or confused, and I can tell what type of person they are inside. But none of it has to do with the so called "psychic " realm. It's purely physical observation. the body betrays the mind, and one can learn to read it. But it doesn't mean I have psychic powers.

Poltergeist

You sure that no other occurences that may explain a poletergeist besides that particular event? If that was the only one, I don't think it would have been a poltergeist.
arwenpotter
*nods* but i believe, Insight, that the kinetics come from you so thats why i was saying if its becoz of the person getting angry its not a poltergiest... oh well.

*nods* yer anyone can pick up on a thought depending on emotions and things...

im not making much sense am i? arg bad day..
