This is sad and yet it is also symptomatic of a disease that seems to be spreading through this country. I as yet do not have a name for this sickness but its symptoms include, apathy, neglect, ETC ETC.......
No cure has been found to work on this sickness with any certianty. I almost always weep at stories like this one and others that involve the untimely death of a baby or young child......... I apologize I am getting rather emotional.



Funeral Held for Abandoned Infant

A College Park, Ga., church held a funeral service Saturday for an abandoned infant whose body was found in a wooded area Sept. 28 in southeast Atlanta.

The funeral for the baby boy, who has been named Emmanuel Christian, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church on E. Main St. in College Park.

The Atlanta Police Department has been seeking information in the boy’s death since two city workers found the baby’ decomposing body Sept. 28. Based on the way the umbilical cord was cut, it is unlikely the boy was born in a hospital, police said. Also, parts of the baby's body had been burned, presumably to conceal the death.

Police are asking anyone who may have noticed any unusual activity in the area between Sept. 26 and Sept. 28 to contact them. They also hope to hear from anyone who knows of a woman who gave birth during that time and is now without her child.

Expenses for the funeral service were donated by Gregory Levett & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur.

That is so sad. I hope they find the person or people responsible for this.

If a woman is pregnant and does not want the child yet carries it full term anyway, why would she have it and then dump it in the woods?

There are thousands of couples in the world unable to have children that would have loved to adopt that baby.

This is trully a very sad and disgusting thing, how could they do that to an innocent baby, as girty said there are so many people out there who would adopt. This really highlights humanitys dark and sickening side!

No one is human when they do that to a person or a baby!

The poor baby. Yet you here of more cases like this every year, it's not a one off.

What is sicker is that in this state, Georgia, all that woman would have had to do was go to a hospital, police station, or fire department and give the baby to them. No questions asked, it sure is a better policy than whatever happened to this poor little baby.
