Holy Land - The country of Israel is about the size of Florida, The unusual thing is that the population of the whole world for thousands of years, approximately 80 billion, have been affected by a land about the size of Florida. Wow!

No, it is not the size of Florida, much smaller.
Most of the world's population has been affected by the Romans, Greeks, TarTars, Mongols, Visigoths, British, Chinese, Egyptians, Americans, French, Germans, and others, but Israel has had effect only on Crusades (to some degree, was it an ongoing feud, was it retaliation to the Moors) and Jews who have converted to Christians.

First of all, the Holy Land is indeed much smaller than Florida is, but it's influence on the world is indeed huge.
Christiniaty was born there from Judaism.
Jews who spoke both Arabic and Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) translated Arab science to Ladino when the Christians took back Spain, thus transmitting this science to Europe.
Jews also never went through the dark ages of Europe (meaning all Jews knew how to read and write while most of Europe's population was in the dark ages) thus being able to help the nobles run their kingdoms in the middle ages.
Jews also, by knowing Hebrew, became the link of the Christian world to the Islamic one in means of trade.

Europeans today hold a religion that originates from Judaism and that thinks a Jew, Jesus, is a god .

And I may add to the info Erikl provided, that in more ancient times, like around 800BC, the area was a major trade center, from where the Phoenicians spread their goods across the known world.

You are all missing the point with your arguments. She simply stated that a land smaller than the State of Florida influenced all the people in the whole world in some form or fashion over time. She wasn't comparing it to anything else.

Why the controversy and why must everything be a one-upmanship with you people. Did you ever think to lead in with; and furthermore, Rome, Italy blah, blah, blah - rather then trying to make a greater point, which by the way was not her intention.

In the real world China has held over 50% of the worlds population for most of history and has not been 'affected' by the 'holy land' nor any other western culture. China in fact has had some influence on the history of western cultures.

Please don't limit your world view to just the western cultures.

Now for our know written history which started more than 4000 years ago, the 'holyland' has been in existence for the last 2000 years. So it has influence only about a quarter of the entire worlds population all told. Not too impressive is it?

Nobody, you are right regarding China, although the single most effective western cultural aspect on all Chinese life is Communism, which, theorized by Marx, which was a Jew, and so once again - the Holy Land did affect the Chinese.
And let's not forget Albert Einstein which theory of relativity and theory about matter and energy enabled China to become a nuclear power .

Also, the written history of the world is actually 5,000-6,000 years long, but the problem is that most of what happened back then didn't survive to today's reality, so we do not look at those events today.

And ofcourse lets not forget that Homo Sapiens is 100,000 years old, and so the last 6,000 years are nothing but 6% of the time our species exist .

Al-Qaeda attacked the US because they don't want non-muslim militaries in what they consider to be Islamic land.
They also attack Turkey because it is no longer Islamic, and it was also the real reason for why they attacked Spain (this was noted in all Al-Qaeda related websites... but it seems world media used that attack to cause the Spanish military to be pulled out of the Iraqi war that the media didn't approve).
It will also be the real reason why they will attack Israel in the near futute I'm afraid (they didn't manage to do so because we were able to defend ourselves so far) and also Vienna is on their target list (becuae of the historical battle between the Islamic Ottoman empire and Christian crusaders).
