Is there anyway that onme can initiate an out of body experience?
Curiosity
Yes, there is. In fact, I read about how to do it somewhere but I don't remember where. There are probably some buried threads here, too.

Last night I got reeeaaaaly close, but just as I was about to leave my body, WHAM. My cat pounced on me looking for a warm place to sleep. disgust.gif

I forgot the method and just play it by ear now. I lie very still and let my body go to sleep, while I remain just a little bit consious -- like the point when you are almost asleep.
Yasha
[Hmm.. I always fall asleep when trying to do it disgust.gif

I'm allergic to cats so I don't need to worry about that tongue.gif

She got close to Astral Projection?...out of body experiences...? I think they are the same, right?

Maybe she can go into astral form and sneek up on you insight rolleyes.gif .
Insight
Hey, that would be awesome! I'd totally love to have that experience. It would give me huge amounts of insight into the human being.

And I think Out of Body experiences are an uncontrolled form of astral projection.

But hey, do your worst in regards to sneaking up on me. If you can tell me what i look like or what I was doing, I'd be VERY impressed. But I guess I'd have to give you my adress and such. Oh well. We'll see.

Couldn't our astral form move from place to place, mentally? Like how remote viewing works, might the astral form move in a way of telepathy? Maybe if I connected with someones thoughts and used telepathy, I could mentally transport my astral form?

I'll check it out some time...
Curiosity
I think the only difference between astral projection and OBEs is that OBEs take place on this plane and astral projection takes place an the astral planes.

And if I ever do manage to OB, I'll see what I can do. laugh.gif Maintaining that state of consciousness that I mentioned earlier is hard to accomplish.

I could tell you what you look like... but then, you posted a picture of yourself a couple weeks ago. Or was that not you after all?

I don't know what this was - maybe someone else does? I had just closed my eyes to go to sleep. I've never done drugs, no alcohol or other chemicals or anything was involved. I was just laying there waiting to go to sleep when suddenly I felt this great velocity, like I was flying. I had the idea that I was out of my body and soaring through space. I couldn't see much, but I could faintly make out what looked like stars all around me. Mostly it was just the feeling of moving very far very fast. This happen to anyone else?
Curiosity
I think I know the "flying" feeling that you're talking about. Is it like when you are flying through the air in a dream? I've never seen anything while feeling it, though.
gufzoo
Yeah, kinda like how I imagine they'd be - if I'd ever had a flying dream, which unfortunately I have not. Had a levitating one, though, which turned into my first and only lucid dream! Woohoo, that was cool. Except I was so amazed I was lucid dreaming, I forgot to try and see how I could control it sad.gif
I don't know if I actually saw stars or imagined I saw stars. They seemed pretty real at the time, but who knows?
So you've had them too, huh? What happens to you when it happens? Where do you go?
Curiosity
I don't "go" anywhere, as far as I know. It's only happened when I'm dreaming or when I'm about to dream.

Usually it feels as if you are getting pulled upright and your feet are about to sink into your bed. Other times it feels as if I'm about to go skyrocketing into space headfirst, or sometimes like I'm falling. It feels vey real, but it's not always the same.

Every time it's happend, I'm in such (shock, panic, fear? don't know how to describe it) that I wake up.
