I read a long time ago about someone who theorised that there is a species of airborn creatures that is almost transparrent. Can't really remember too much but I would like to ask, since I am new here, if anyones knows a good link or a thread I missed. alien.gif

Note: I am not reffering to flying rods nor I am unaware of Arthur Clark's Space Odyssey of the whale like creatures in the upper atmosphere of Zeus. grin2.gif

What's wrong with my upper atmosphere. Do you mean I have an airy head or something....????

Well about the Sylphs, they are one of a variety of other dimensional creatures that have the air as home. I once saw a huge one some 7 or more stories tall passing through the tall smoke of a fire but hey...if people go about saying they play with air spirits others will envy and deny...so exclude my rantings and do a google on SYLPHS....but there are many types... wink2.gif

you mean rods?
those little things (well most are pretty big "accordingly") have been spotted all over the place.

Short part from there:
QUOTE
On 11 September, 1948, the building of New York's highest skyscraper, the Empire State Building, was attacked with hundreds of birds of various species. Eyewitnesses said that the birds were slamming into windows, as if they were trying to fly away from an imminent danger. Hundreds of birds fell down on the ground dead in May of 1917 in the US town of Baton-Rouge, Louisiana. A lot of them had strange burns on their bodies. A similar incident occurred in August of 1960 on the outskirts of Capitola Beach, when numerous birds fell down dead too. Ornithologists could never determine the reason of their death.

American researcher Charles Fort wrote in his work "The Book of the Damned" that there were weird, jelly-like beings living in the Earth's atmosphere. Medusa-like creatures, Fort wrote, had stings and tentacles, which they used to hunt for birds. The existence of such creatures seemed to be unbelievable for a very long time, until American scientists developed a special substance, aerogel. The lighter-than-air gel is a substance, the state of which is represents both hard and gas condition. Researchers proposed that the flesh of the mysterious creatures could be made of a similar substance. The theory can be partly proved with an incident, which occurred on 28 December, 1958, in Florida. Detective Faustin Galegos found a strange object outside his house. The detective said that he took the object in his hands, but could not feel that he was holding it. It was a translucent ball, the size of a soccer ball, and it was practically weightless. The detective did not manage to preserve it, because it virtually melted in the air several hours later. Faustin Galegos said that he had an impression of holding an unknown dead creature in his hands.

Hey I don't know that much about this, except I heard somewhere that UFO sightings are usually not alien spacecraft but creatures who live in the sky, or something like that.

I did say I was not talking about rods...... wacko.gif

Thanks Asterix...looking into the links now. Out of many cruptozoology subjects this is one of my favourites although there is little to no info on most sites sad.gif

Any additional links on this would be greatly appreciated !!! w00t.gif

I find the idea of interdimensional creatures or invisible/atmospheric creatures interesting and it reminds me of the episode of Stargate where they bring an artifact back and once it's swtiched on, people who come into contact with it would start to see wierd creatures and they said it was because the artifact altered the their perception or something to that effect.

News to me.

I really have to look into this, I've convinced myself of the nonexistance of the Jersey Devil, still don't care about aliens, and think the Mothman is a fraud.

Now, something new for solving!
DJ_5150
Does anyone have any pics of these ?
Raistlin Majere
Yeah, that's where I have to start nocking them down, pictures.

You sure you can't use a special camera or a filter to at least get an outline or something? I kind of think the really hard part is actually finding one tongue.gif

Raistlin Majere
Because they don't exist.
