Okay. There is a goldfish, and his name is Alexander 4th. (actual name of my goldfish) He sits in his tank, content with his world. He never leaves that world. Thats his realm. Then theres us, who peer in on the goldfish, and examine him, and our realm is the solar system. We are (well, most of us) content here, and remain here. We will never leave it.

I beleive we are like the goldfish, happy to remain trapped in our realm. Whats beyond our realm is up to you to decide. The obviouse awnser is space, but is it possible, in fact, probable, that space is just a third realm?

Perhaps one day, like Extra terrestrials, we will become able to travel to the next realm, or maybe we are all being studied under a microscope like object in the realm after that.

Any thoughts?

Your allegory is flawed. The goldfish is probably happier in its natural habitat not in a confined tank. rolleyes.gif

I bet you can not explore or visit the entire earth, or even our solar system, in one human lifespan. Now if your in prison then...
Walken
The goldfish is just an example. I could've said the goldfish lived anywhere. Further more, your correct; but when I say the solar system I'm talking the very limits we could go.

Beyond your goldfish's tank is incomprehensible to him. He can only see and live in water. If he is forced outside his world, he cannot exist.

Beyond our space is incomprehensible to us. If we were forced into it we could no longer exist.

The Earth is not in anywhere special in the Universe. The Earth is regarded as any of the 'billion-times-a-billion-squared-plus' other planets out there. Extra terrestirials live in one place in our galaxy/universe and they too are unregarded.

The Earth was created in a random spot in the Universe, no where special rolleyes.gif

And there are cats out there too. Plenty of them I'm sure.

The rule is containment, So you have a cup and in the cup is your goldfish. So you have a fish in a cup, the cup in a room , the room in the house. house in town, town in bla, bla, bla then you get to planet in solar system in galaxy, galaxy in universe multi-verse now what contains that and this where the problem lies in physic's. we just don't know enough yet to answer that question. Then there is the question on what started the process? because to get a re-action you must first have an action and to have that action I myself think must have a consciousness. Because to cause this action it has to be conscious of what it is doing. Now here is another thing, where did all the matter come from to create the universe/multi-verse? because nothing plus nothing is still nothing. So here we are stuck looking out there wondering how and where did all this stuff come from. So what did come first the chicken or the egg lol.

This is still an unexplained phenomenon...our scientists aren't advanced enough to explore space, and so we are like an ant in a crowd, unknowing what is around us and what may happen.
Walken
without doubt the chicken was first. I mean, without a chicken how could there be an egg? But wait...they'd have to be an egg to make a chicken...oh my... alien.gif

Ya there is just so much we don't know, We have learned so much in the past hunrded years just image the next. I just wish I could have been ther eto see it all, man its just mind blowing to think of where we will be in a thousand years
ninj
Oh speaking of what contains it I just heard on the TV that it just happend. lol there was a science show on and thats what the guy had to say, I wonder how much he got payed to come up with that one. Hell I could have come up with that one hehehehehe. I think I'm in the wrong game lol.

FURTHERMORE, If you put a goldfish in a cup it will remain small. If you move it to a two gallon goldfish bowl it will begin to grow. If you move it to a large fish tank, it will increase in size tremendously. Goldfish grow into their environment.

NOW, how big will we grow in an area the size of space and what kind of mess will we make there. Who will clean our bowl then?
Walken
I know I won't. I'll be far far away by then, friend.

Yo dude you and that dirty gnome are just way to close lol , its starting scare me hehehehehe.

Did you ever think that somone in this forum is really a spy for the secret organisation that covers up UFO's, and that they're reporting all of our thoughts back to base.

You are assuming too much, Insight. Perhaps the goldfish CAN comprehend what is beyond the glass of his tank or alternatively beyond the shores of his sea. We can certainly comprehend that there is something beyond our solar system, however we are as the goldfish, unable to go there as yet.

The only difference is that the Goldfish does not (as far as we know) have the capacity to change that, we do.

Also how can you say the goldfish could not exist? anything can exist, it merely may not have the capacity to support life as we know it. For instance, put a naked human into open space and he/she wont last very long either, and yet we have sent people into space and seen them return relatively healthy.

Perhaps the same could be for what is beyond our universe?

It is a myth that goldfish harbour no memory. Goldfish are actually very intellegent creatures who are able to memorise and perform simple tasks. My old goldfish, Ray Davis (died of white spot) used to become distressed if anyone but me fed it, and the one before him (Mr. Lennon) frequently moved the water snails around the tank useing suction with his mouth.

I assume goldfish do not know beyond the tank, however I was talking metaphoricly. One day goldfish may invent a type of air-proof tank. The point is, they never know beyond their exsistence.
