Recently, the famous guitarist of the band, Damageplan, was shot during one of their shows. I am pretty sure he was killed too. Since i am a huge fan of his work, I, and millions of other Pantera and Damageplan fans that have heard the news already are devastated. I couldnt believe it when i first heard it. Im sure most of you people here dont really care, but for the people who do, this is just to let you know. He was one of the greatest guitarists ever and he will be missed dearly.

yep. i want to meet the koobeton that did it.
Shakezulah
i would shoot him and see how he likes it. are you positive hes dead?
neo cloud 8900
on the zone they were talking about it as if he was dead.
Shakezulah
o. i dont listen in the mornings anymore. hopefuly hes not dead and he will live on to make great music.
neo cloud 8900

I am saddened by this news. When I first heard it I just shook my head.

As a redident of North Texas it strikes particularly close to home because they were a Dallas based band and Pantera just absolutely 'ruled' around these parts. What is it with these idiots that think if someone has 'dissed' them then it is okay to take their life? wacko.gif

How tragic...just how completely tragic..... sad.gif

I am absolutely devestaed by this news... I can't believe that he's actually gone, the god of all heavy metal guitarists....
Elvis
I totally agree, the man who did this should be hung, drawn and quartered - publicly.

Just for the record, his name isn't actually featured on any of these posts so far, so his name was "Dimebag" Darrell Abbot.
Shakezulah
well at least the killer is still dead. im glad for that. he shouldnt have deseved to live after killing one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time. im gonna miss that guy so much.

I know I am showing my age but I am unfamiliar with Darrell Abbot's work, but also being a music fan from the long gone late 60's, 70's, and early 80's, I find this sad. It is always sad when an appreciated talent leaves this life before their time.

it's not just a loss to the metal world, it's a loss to the music world as a whole. many bands that i listen to or used to listen to were inspired by bands like pantera. he shall be missed.
OneEye
That is just really bad. I hate stupid people...

I just went to a Godsmack concert Thursday night. They dedicated their show to him. Panther gargoyles and everything. The bass player even did a Pink Panther solo for him.
Shakezulah
yeah it seems every rock band that has a concert is doing something for him at their shows. iom going to a (hed) pe sho on the 20th. i wonder if theyll say anything about him.
freaky6
Does anyone know why he was targeted? It's just so sad.
Shakezulah
Gale (the killer) was just crazy. he was a former marine and they discharged him because of mental problems. he also thought that it was Dimebags fault that Pantera broke up and thats why he specifically went after him.
Gabriel
u wanna know how the killer was caught?
a columbus police officer was behind the killer when he grabbed a hostage, the cop walked up behind him and shot him in the head with a shot gun. i know cuz i live here in columbus. SHot gun shell are bad fo' yo' health.- Ice cube
Shakezulah
