My wife is a non-believer but watches all the ghost shows she can but is extremely skeptical. Well this morning she can running from the computer and said the computer wrote a message in her open new e-mail page while she was talking on the phone. I said it was a language program open while she was talking but no that was not the case. Now, she is the computer expert with 18 year experience and Microsoft Certified in Window 2000. She work as a network administrator and nothing has ever happened to her like this.

We both yelled at the microphone to check just in case and still nothing happened. The sentence did not make sense. I don't remember what it said but I will check it out later and post it here. We have had strange things happen in this house before.

Has anyone ever had this happen?
RelicHunter
Nope it never happened to me. What did the message say? Do you guys have a cat? Could have been the cat. Did she put anything on or near the keyboard? Was she talking on a cordless phone or on a normal one because maybe the cord hitted the key board...
HolyDevil2053
That is strange...was it just random letters? Post it when you get the chance very curious to see...and by the way Cotton...u have a creepy avatar...it's like it suddenly gonna open its eyes and jump at me! laugh.gif

This same thing has happened to a friend of mine back in school.
It happened on his laptop. I came in one day and told me that he was watching TV and doing some work on his laptop and then words started appearing in the document he was writing.
He said it happened a few times and the words were proper words but were jumbled up.
Then once in a lesson it happened again, which i saw. It was weird as the keys werent being pressed.
Also i made sure there were no viruses on the laptop that could cause this..

I'm no computer expert but if the message didn't make any sense then it seems more likely to me that it would be strictly computer error. Why would a spirit want to make itself known by typing nonsense? It seems like a lot of wasted energy..
Stellar
First question is: Are you sure theres no viruses?

Second: Is your phone cordless?

Third: Is your keyboard cordless?
Weird_Al_Yankovic
it happened to me once. i have a normal pc, and i was writing a story. when a note that sed Schmuk went to kumhcS. i wrote it a gain n again, but nothing happened.
atrueoriginall
My question is, why didn't you tell us the message that appeared on the computer? I say they have a cat.

Lack of information usually has something to do with an original question when asked.

Hello relic hunter,

I do not have cats (allergic to household pet dander) but the phone is corded; however. I do not believe we have a virus on the computer since my wife is in charge of security of computer networks at her job.

Here is the sentence verbatum as it appeared on the e-mail: "Harry and check them in the league for less money in the long war and here you won't bore you should wear a united by Christopher urged can, humor and lots more new line. The and the way I think"

Sort of looks like someone typing with their subconcious mind but she was on the phone all the time; oh, and after the e-mail was sent our son-in-law said it never arrived on his computer so he called us and we sent him another one.

Hmm, how do you know what someone typing with their subconsious mind is like?
pallidin
Sounds more like a screwed-up terrorist communication than anything paranormal. At the VERY LEAST, I would contact your FBI office to review.

Yep. You ever hear of a "backdoor"? (Net bus, back orafice) With a backdoor in place, a person can remotely enter text where ever they please. Virii and trojens are talking on many hilariouys forms these days.

What did the message say exactly?

Sounds like a glitch to me. You running win XP?
Diebytheflyguy
It could be a "virus."

I can't remember the website, but you are able to choose from a variety of viruses to send to people via email and it does some crazy stuff to your computer.

You can send one that makes all the icons on your desktop melt off the screen, and you can get one that maked all your items move around, and make words flash on your screen.

It does nothing harmful to your computer. I'll bet that someone sent it to you.
Cotton c.
I am not sure about the back door problem because we have a router which acts as a physcal firewall; plus, we have Norton Antivirus, Ad-aware and Spybot. However, that does look like a coded message.

im not buying it, computer savy or not, virus' do get in, nothing is fool proof,i however dont beleive it to be a virus but definetly not a ghost, i highly doubt a ghost would just do that to your computer and nohting else beforehand to your household

Well as I mentioned in my original post there has been some strange things happen to us in this home off and on; such as, pots being drop from the kitchen counter while no one was there and no doors or window open for drafts. Doors opening and closing by themselves and hearing people walking across the second floor of our home while we are downstairs and no one in our home.

Normally I am a skeptic but when you witness it yourself you become a believer about that particular incendent. I can not see the wind but I believe in it just the same because I can feel it see it effect on the world around me.

The forces in our home are harmless, if indeed they are real, and they just raise an eyebrow no and then.

Looks like you almost WANT to believe it was a ghost.
RelicHunter
Hmm...I'm not good with comps but that's stange. I did hear that trojans and stuff could do that but I doubt you have one. Did your wife type any of those things before that happened? Do you know a christopher? Hope this helps!
michele
I don't think it was paranormal.
Insight
Personally, I would be very VERY surprised to learn that it wasn't anything other than a simple computer error.

If I blamed all my computer problems on paranormal activity, I'd be needing a preist by now. *laughs*

Cotton, I sorta have an on going computor issue, and Icall it my laptop ghost... lol

When I'm typing, I watch the screen and not my fingers, but my hands "float" above my keyboard, meaning that I don't rest my hands on the keyboard. This happens all the time: While I'm typing something I actually watch as what I've just typed gets highlighted and erased... since once something gets highlighted if you type a single letter it replaces what was highlighted (and I type to fast to stop typing as soon as I see what I've typed becoming highlighted)

Its really frustrating, because I know my hands arent inadvertantly hitting keys, and My built in mouse as well as my USB mouse aren't being touched. I've asked several of my friends what this could be (I go to a Tech Universityand most of my friends are computor geeks). This happens at least once a day... I have Ad aware and sophos... no clue what is causing this.

To solve the problem do this:
1)Backup all important files
2)Completely restore the OS using your supplied CD's, NOT a "repair install, and make that system "factory fresh"
3)Load all device drives from the CD's
4)With an internet connection go to Microsoft Updates and load all updates.
5)Load your Anti-virus software.
6)Obtain all updates to your Anti-virus software.
7)Run a full system scan.
8)Load Ad-Aware and Spysweeper
9)Run scans.
10)Keep your kids off that computer and avoid any sites which are peer-to-peer(Kazaar, I-Mesh, etc...) which are ripe with adware/spyware/virii
Bizeebutt
sadly, I cannot do half of your suggestions... I got to a university that has a "lap top initiative" meaning every student is given a laptop. We aren't given any administrative options like that. I could take my computor in to have it re-imaged... but here's the funny thing... While I had my computor in the help desk for a week and a half, they gave me a loaner to work on.... It had the same problem. Thats what made me suspicious, and like I said, I asked my friends and noone else (all having the same craptops... er... laptops) had the same problem.

original.gif Whether my wife's experience was really "white noise" or not no one can say unless we can reproduce the problem. Early (1995) in the days of the internet my wife was chatting peer-to-peer with a man from Canada who suddenly ph34r.gif took over the controls of our computer to demonstrate what skills he had and needless to say she severed the connection; so, there are a lot of ways to communicate with someone without necessary having it lead back to you; persay.

Considering that a ghost is a form of energy then could a ghost possible control the workings of a computer? I would say the answer would have to be yes! thumbsup.gif I do some writing and I have trained my speech program to write for me and sometimes I get spooked when it starts writing when I forget it's on but my wife stated that it was not on and she doesn't believe in ghosts and is in a computer professional and I doubt she would lie to me about this situation.

This was a topic to see if others out there have experienced ghost via a computer and from what I have received so far I would say that this is a dead topic until after the release of "White Noise".

Listen, I'm a self-proclaimed computer genius... wait, no I'm not. But I am a HUGE computer geek. Sure, this could be a back door, but why would somebody write such a random letter? It could be written by somebody that doesn't speak fluent English, but it's still too random. I doubit it's paranormal, I doubt it's a windows glitch, after all, why would something like that happen? I'm VERY interested in this one though... perhaps there's more to the message than meets the eye?

[EDIT]

Yeah, I'm probably taking this WAY too far, but I'm an over-analytical guy. Here's what I've pulled so far. (kinda rough note format)

Harry and check them in the league for less money in the long war and here you won't bore you should wear a united by Christopher urged can, humor and lots more new line. The and the way I think"

Harry
Christopher

Harry could be hurry...

Hurry and check them in the league for less money in the long war.
War and Bore rhyme

Hurry and check them in the league for less money in the long war,
And here you won't bore

Nothing seems to be significant with the meaning of the names

Long War... not too sure on this, but does anybody know of any wars that have officially been known as the "long war". I'm thinking one of the WW's

I'm really looking at the puncuation. The randomness of this is weird, but the puncuation suggest order.

The second line on makes 0 sense. United and Christopher could have something to do with religion...

Humor and lots more new line... new line could be new jokes...

That's all I got, and it's probably taking this whole thing a tad bit too far... but w/e.

Bizeebutt
so Cotton, you have a ghost writer, I have a ghost deleter. Maybe they should get together and with my ghost's editing your ghost can put together a decent story;)

My friend hacked me before with a Sub7 Trojan and opened my notepad and started writing. Pretty cool.

All amazing stuff. But I don't see anythign to point to a true cause. Normally I would jump on the "backdoor" band wagon. But a security pros computer? Not likely but possible.

Could just be a glitch, but why the actual words in some sort of poetic order?

Very interesting but too many possibilities.

I have weird things happen as I listen to EVP sometimes. It only happens then, but the computer will restart on it's own or sometimes refuse to open a newly downloaded file and instead opens up one from earlier in the day. I use three different sound software packages, so I can't blame it on software. Perhaps an interface/driver that is global to all audio functions shuts down the system? Win 98, been running for years without ever shutting down unexpectantly.

I also might blame it on new software, but no new software or updates in over 60 days. Seem to be viral free, but harder and harder to tell as scumbags get better and better at hacking.

Not saying paranormal, god knows computers do weird things once in a while. But it is pretty interesting and really creepy sometimes when it happens.

Was it a cordless keyboard? Or remote keyboard? Cordless keybords are like cell in home cordless phones. Have you ever heard someone else talking while your talking on your phone? Has to do with frequency. Im not saying I dont trust what you are saying, Im sure it could have been what you say. Im just asking logical actions. Plus the fact that thiers Trojan virus that I have seen take over another persons computer. Called Subseven server Trojan. Sheesh with that trojan installed I can make your monitor screen go upside down, open a E-mail, open the Cd rom over and over. Do application redirect. Basically anything I want. What you are sayin really sounds like a sub seven server Trojan/Virus.

Yes! it was a wireless keyboard. thumbsup.gif Never thought about that? Very interesting, indeed.

What brand keyboard?

I wanna play with the cell phone and wireless keyboard idea! Sounds like the potential for great practical jokes.

I used to be on a few news groups and on some threads messages like that would appear... Are you on any newsgroups?

Speaking of computer shenanigans, last night when I laid down to go to bed, I was just about to fall asleep when a very bright light woke me up... I sat straight up in bed to see my computer monitor coming on from sleep mode... I jumped out of bed and ran into the living room... Meezer was sound asleep curled up on the couch... I was totally freaked out. Our mouse has a blue light in it and when it's idle, it's just a light blue, but when you touch it, it brightens up a bit... the light I saw was the exact same color (kinda like when you see lightening through your eyelids)... Something had to have touched the mouse in order for it to glow like that and turn the monitor on... I really dont think it was paranormal, we do have live mice in the apt... it was just freaky...
wardrich
the thing everybody is missing is the fact that all the words are real. Had it been white noise, chances are you wouldn't have seen much more than

"aldfhakeytiwausbn325i2095234wgf45~@$^" as opposed to real words.
