I have an uncle who once told me about something that happened to him when he was a little boy. The family used to live opposite a wheat field (it's now a school playing ground) and one summer day he went into the field and sat down amongst the crop. He used to be a bit of a loner so this was not an unusual thing for him to do.
He had been sitting there for some time when he heard somthing moving close by to him. Thinking it was a fox or another animal he didn't move but just looked with his eyes so as not to startle it or frighten it away.
What he saw was a small humanoid creature walking through the wheat. He said it had slanted, almost oriental eyes, was naked, had some kind of hair on its body, and obviously hadn't seen him. It moved past him at a distance of only a few feet, didn't look his way once, and vanished into the field.
Now my uncle is a down-to-earth guy who is not prone to flights of fancy nor have I ever known him to tell lies or make things up. In fact his matter-of-fact nature made me sit up and pay attention when he told me this story.
Anyone know what this was or might be? ???

it was possibly some sort of gnome, since there has been a lot of encounters over the years of similar things, I can site one that appeared to a girl near a stream, standing on a stone in the river, again it was naked, and had some sort of hair on it, it was there for a few minutes and then dissappeared.

;)
[blue]That's an interesting idea and one that I certainly will not debunk. It is quite possible and since I was not the one witnessing it, cannot say whether it is right or not.
Strange. [/blue]:o

That's a truly frightening story. I've always sort of half expected to see something like that when I'm way up a little trout creek somewhere or way back in the woods. Don't know what I'd do, though....run, probably.

Actually, I saw the hairless monkey with two tails at a circus when I was nine years old. It was the main attraction. :)

I was driving home from work once and I saw a chimpanzee walking down the street. It was about 5:30 in the evening, so I pulled over to see what was going on. This chimp was just walking down the sidewalk, pushed the button at the crosswalk and everything. I followed him for about ten minutes, when this guy came running up all out of breath, called the chimp's name, and then scooped him up. It was a rather odd, if not "unexplained" incident...

[blue]Nah, I've also seen the chimpanzee. Next time you see him, Chris, tell him he owes me money...[/blue] ;D
