Full Version: omg, what is wrong with me?!
About 3 days ago I woke up and had a red bumpy rash all over my body! It's disgusting! The doctor said it's because of the antibiotics I have been taking because of my Mono. I think I had a side effect, or I was elergic to it. I don't know when my rash will go away, probably in about a week. Has anyone else had something like this? And if you have(or haven't) do you know what I should do, or how I could get rid of it?!!!!!!! Dude! I'm sick of something always being wrong with me! Can't anything ever go right? ........

ugh, I hate rashes, but I've never had one that bad. I hope you feel better and it goes away soon
Oatmeal baths help with rashes. There are very soothing and can help clear it up. I guess you should feel lucky that the only side-effect you have is skin irritation. There are much worse things that could have happened epspecially if you are allergic to the antibiotics. Good luch with the rash and your bout with mono. I hope you get feeling better soon.

Mono is a virus that you can get only from saliva, or getting coughed on, etc. You get really tired; I didn't, you can get fevers, sore throat, swollen glands in your throat.....etc. basically a bunch of crappy stuff happens to you. I'm over the Mono, it's just the rash that's irritating me. The strange thing is that it's sort of moving downwards on my body. It was really bad on my chest before, but now it's on my stomach and on my legs..... hymmm...... weird.

About rashes- I think even Calomine lotion is good too, if its an itchy type of rash.
If it is just red, then oatmeal baths like the above mentioned...certain types of creams are available- u just gotta go to the drug store

For temporary relief, try a cool, or at least a cold, shower. As cold as you can stand it. That should help with any itching you may be experiencing.

Over the counter Benadryl would help the itching and the oatmeal baths are good too, Aveeno is a good brand.
I'm surprised your doctor isn't giving you something, if it's really bad steroids would stop it immediately.

Sounds like you've been playing with wun. Come to think of it wun mentioned everyone was coming down with a rash on UM. That's strange, it just hit me, I have had a rash on my neck the last 2 days.
What's going on? Maybe it's an emotional re-action. If the rash is because of antibotics, it will calm down when you quit taking them. You might ask your doctor for something to ease the symptoms, though_ as an allergic reaction can be very uncomfortable.
Well it is finally starting to go away.... thank God. Well thanks for all your commments......so yeah...... talk to you guys later!
