Higgs boson is an ivisible energy field kind of like the ether, but much more dense, so that it helps contain gravity, which holds larger than microparticles in their own spheres. This in turn keeps the spin on objects with a mass larger than molecules.
It also helps hyper-drive vehicles to travel through the space-continuum without relying on actual gravity.
The next step in space technology will be find a way to attach to the subspace particles in order to travel faster and farther, and even perhaps with some time travel thrown in for good measure.
