For the past little bit... around 1 o'clock in the morning, I've woken up to a voice calling my name over and over again. I'm usually half asleep when I hear this voice so, thinking it's my brother or my parents, I tell them to shut up and I go back to sleep. But yesterday night, the same thing happened and I told whatever it was to shut up and it did and I went back to sleep. But at 3:00 I was woken up to someone saying my name and when I told them to shut up I heard an annoyed sighing and that actually woke me up completely.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had experiences like this and I was wondering if you could shed some light on my situation!

Wow freaky. That is very scary, I'd get scared.
If it is a ghost, telling it to shut up usually works. Something used to tap on my window all the time and whenever I yelled "Stop!" it did.

Yes but the fact that there was the annoyed sigh has me a little worried... I know that being afraid of whatever it is just gives it an excuse to harm me but it's kinda difficult to not be afraid y'know?

You've checked with the others in your house, I suppose? Just to make sure some of it may not be your brother.

If it's always near sleep then you're probablly hallucination. You can usually tell them apart from real voices from the physical realm because they sound disstant or muffled. I find that I'm fine with my eyes open but almost as soon as I close them the voices start.

If it was happening at a particular time, such as when you are falling asleep, I would say it was probably nothing more than hallucination. However, you describe being awakened at 1 a.m. and another time at 3 o’clock. I would say it is most likely a recurring dream.
My grandmother grew up in what I have always considered to be a very haunted location. She knew of several people who had heard their names called, particularly as they were passing the old family cemetery. I’m not trying to scare you, but her advice was to never answer such voices, because it is the dead calling.

Seriously now. My mother is schizophrenic, has been since I was 10(I am 33 now). It was scary growing up with her. Not saying you are K, but my mother heard voices and sounds on a regular basis.

K, before you declare yourself schizophrenic, try to eliminate all the possibilities. Small animals, rats, squirrels, etc. could be causing the sounds from your keyboard. Or, perhaps, someone in your family is playing a mean joke on you. When people say they hear things, voices or whatever, I think mental illness should be considered only after all other possibilities, including the supernatural, are eliminated. If you have a recording device, you might consider turning it on before going to bed.

I agree you should try to get it on tape. I know most of us are not rich, but Radio Shack sell a couple of nice ,cheap recorders that are sound activated. if some thing is picked up, but unclear there are audio programs that can be used to clean them up.
GOOD HUNTING!

I have had an experience where I was waked up by someone calling my name. The voice sounded angry. It happened just a few days after my mother had died. I thought it was my grand mother's voice and assumed that the stress of my mother's death had, perhaps, caused her death. When this happened, it was about 5 a.m., so I held off calling my grand mother until a more "decent" hour. She was fine. I then assumed it was my mother's voice.
The only reference to this I knew was St. Paul, in the bible, being waked in this way.

it's normal to hear voices once in a while when you're waking up or falling asleep but if you hear them constantly i would go to a doctor.

i think whats happening in this situation is that wen you are more relaxed you are more succeptible to hear the voices... i myself heare voices often... very frequently actually, often they say my name at random intervals, and once i was shaken out of bed (not literaly) by a gruff voice that told me to get out of bed, i asked my family but i know it couldnt have been any of them, the way this man sounded is unlike anything ive heard...by my family,..ive heard that voice 2 other times as well

My Elders also told me, don't answer back when your name is being called, it is "the dead". They told me to call myself back 3 times.

Do you expect to hear them now? Are you listening for them? Maybe you are freaking yourself out over it and your mind is playing tricks on you? Not doubting you just curious. I know when I get spooked by something (like being up late at night by myself reading ghost stories lol) I tend to jump at things that are nothing.

I'm periodically awaken by a female voice, almost always when I'm about to oversleep before getting up and going to work (I work afternoons). I believe it might be my spirit guide looking out for me.

When we are drifting off to sleep or just waking up or even in a "slight sleep" we are in an alpha state of receptivity. The voices you hear at that time are not imagined and certainly not schizophrenia,, In this alpha state we are in a different frequency of mind/consciousness and are able to perceive beyond the veil of the "beta wave or wakeful state". In this other frequency we can pick up voices and even tangible touches and movements of astral beings, often discarnate entities that havent crossed over. They could also be interdimensional and other planetary beings, as well as spirit guides or beings of light.... THe way to tell the difference is how the voices or touching makes you feel,,, IF the voices have a tone of confusion or make you feel frightened then these are not of a higher aspect and need to be told to go into the light (while you call for angels of light to escort them), or tell them to go away and stay away, the latter doesnt always work permanently, but worth trying) Then you need to surround yourself with white light protection..
Incidently this hearing voices and feeling touches while drifting off to sleep and waking seems to be a failrly common phenomena. We are surrounded by interdimensional entities 24/7 but we dont tune into them in a sensory way or if we do , most just dismiss it

the alpha wave thing is just another myth made up by people trying to find proof of the supernatural.
alpha waves originate in the "white matter" of the part of the brain called the limbic system, which is the primitive and drive-related area of the brain. alpha waves happen when you are relaxed and thoughtless with your eyes closed. alpha waves aren't caused by light sleep. all levels of sleep cause delta waves. being "half-asleep" causes theta waves. beta waves mean that the part of the brain they are recorded in is active.
in schizophrenia, the limbic system is overactive and larger than normal, and the cerebral cortex, which causes beta waves, is smaller than normal.
