There is really no way of knowing, my wife and I once went to a friend's house, they have this weird dog that turns off the TV. Its unbelievable, but he does, also at night he starts barking at nothing, then when we looked at him while he was doing this, he was staring to something, and all of the sudden ran away like crazy.
Maybe it was a rat, who knows. I hate possessed dogs.

That's a normal birdy thing to do. The wing flapping is their way of stretching.
I do believe though that animals have a intune 6th sense.

perhaps your bird is blind and it only flaps its wings when u grab it cause u scared do hell out of it. But i do think that animals have a six sence they start running away and going mad when some thing bad is about to happen like and earth quake and i recon pets can sence if you are sick before u even know that your sic. like when my grandad had lung cancer my dog would come and lay on his feet and act really sad befor my grandad even knew he was ill

Indeed! Some epileptics have specially trained animals (ranging from dogs to monkeys) who alert them when they're about to have a seizure so they can go somewhere safe and get help. Scientists theorize that the animals are picking up changes in the person's smell, but they don't really know.

When I had major health problems some time back, my dog, Sophia, an Italian Greyhound always knew when I was just not up to our daily walk. Somehow she knew when I was in too much pain and would simply turn around and go back home.

We in the netherlands had a program called ''miracles exist''
It showed about a middle aged men who got a heart attack in France,
And at the same time he got the heart attack the dog started to cry.
At the phone they found out that the heart attack occured the same time the dog started to cry.
We have 2 cats who sometimes start looking both at something moving in our house, but nothing visible is to see.
they both look at one thing, which looks really wierd.
And I saw a program about animals who were barking before earthquakes. They even saved human lives with it.
Now I know where the words ''A men's best friend come from''
LOL

for sure animals have the 6th sence. Ex. My cat, Fatboy, will sit in my room (the basement of all places) and just stare at a blank wall, then will just start chasing something, although me nor my boyfriend can't see anything. He will jump from one couch to the other and then dart back and forth on the floor then on the bed and off the bed. sometimes he will paw in the air over his head at something. Sometimes he will look up and you can see him watching something. Its pretty weird and funny cause it is like he's chasing the infamous orb and the orb is just taunting him.

My dog dosen't seem to have a sixth sense, or much of a brain for that matter.

She walked into a glass door once. But other than that, some animals can sense things us humans can't, who knows?

Mine didn't have much of a brain when they were puppies. I used to joke that they took turns using the brain cell. They're okay now that they're older, though. <g>

When I was about 9 maybe 10 my dog was barking at nothing. It wasnt a playful bark it was a bark like when there was an intruder. She was staring in the kitchen and backing up but there was nothing there that I could see and it scared the crap out of me lol
