Full Version: Just another question.

I was wondering. I've noticed a lot of people have created religions because they can't stand not knowing the way we came into existence. Or our world, for that matter. In English we read some old stories where a guy told of his belief: the Earth was made from the back of a turtle. Yes. A turtle shell. The Earth was one big ocean and there were only marine creatures. [This makes no sense]. So these otters and seal and stuff come up and slap some mud on the turtle's back and -woot!- LAND!!!

I dunno, it seems silly. Whenever someone tries to explain "how we got here" or whatever, all they do is create another question. [As in the story I read: Where the hell did the turtle come from, right??] Well to me it seems to be the same thing wherever you look.

I'm not just talking creationism. I mean even that stupid "big bang" theory where some microscopic little piece of matter jsut happened to be floating around somewhere and spontaneously blew up and -woot!!!- the universe!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can see my question already: "Where the hell did the little tiny piece of matter come from, then?" "Where teh hell did god come from, then?" You know what I mean?

So, seriously. If anyone can just sit down and watch what's going on maybe we can figure stuff out just by watching... instead of amking up theories before we know if they are true or not.

So far we've found that an atom is the smallest unit of matter. [At least I think it's the atom]. And the biggest, is the universe. The universe is still growing [right?] which makes it like a living thing. Kinda like a tree. You can see everything in nature. A growing tree drops a seed. So if the universe is like any other living thing, maybe there are more out there? It only makes sense. People inside planets, planets inside solar systems, solar systems inside galaxies, why not universes inside something greater? Why not something smaller inside an atom?

Perhaps it's too much for our petty human brains to comprehend, but what if there has always been something bigger and bigger and littler and littler. Even if our whole universe were to blow up or shrink in on itself, then there would possibly be another. But of course, I myself am making a theory now.

So, even something a gigantic as the universe can be seen as something as small as an atom, no? Which, what if one of our atoms just suddenly died? What if one of us died? Big deal, right? Life goes on? One human or cat or dog'd death doesn't cause the end of all life.

So, if you think about it, the "universe", or "all of life" will never, ever, die out. [If my ideas are correct, that is.] So if there is no end, then why would there be any beginning? It would just be one infinite circle. Know what I mean? Even if the "first planet" were to come into existence in our universe, that doesn't make it the beginning of all life, does it? Man, this is freaking hard to explain.

You can tell me when I start sounding smart. hmm.gif

Has anyone nothing to say? Or am I making no sense to anyone whatsoever?

Tis is why I believe in god and don't ask to many questions. Of course I wonder and want to know, but your right... our minds can't understand information like that, probably why god keeps to himself most of the time. It bothers the hell out of me though. I mean I believe in god, but who created god? and who created watever created god and so on? its confusing and to much for me to handle without going crazy. So I keep it as god was always there. he just "is" and until we die and maybe not then, we will never know everything of how things really got around to be

Yeah, that's why I believe in God. Every single living creature seems to have been created unique, along with a planet perfect to suit every creature in a solar system perfectly aligned to hold everything. A star not to big or small, or planets with too much gravity that could destory everything, it's all in harmony.

If you're looking for an exact science to where we came from, we'll never KNOW. It's all about faith and what you believe. I personally believe it takes more faith to believe we came from nothing, but that's the more widely believed theory.
Kat_Kloud
Well obviously a lot of people think it. Even you. You say you believe in God but where did god come from? He had to have come from somewhere, or else he came from nothing.
saucy
That's the question I've had, but will never get the answer for. The bible says God is eternal, meaning He has always been there and will always be there. Is that totally impossible? You may think it is, but there are things that happen that are way out of our comprehension.
Kat_Kloud
Yes I do believe things can be eternal. THat's what this post was started for. For you, it's god. For me, I think the universe is eternal.

As a kid... I believed that God was like a nanny. Let me explain: You did something wrong.. like steal a cookie... then the nanny puts you in time-out for like 15 minuets... To me.. that sounds a lot like not believing in God puts you in Hell for the rest of time. I dunno.. hmm.gif ..

Personally.. I don't care. If we are not to understand it... why should we bother? Why should we need to find out where we came from? Why? I just want to live out my short life here on what we call Earth, and fulfill what I'm suppose to do. To me.. that's all that matters. To me... believing in Santa seems more real than believing in a Big Bang or God making us from nothing.
Oh.. and going off on the santa.gif idea... I believe that treating every day like the way Christmas is supposed to be, would make this world a better place.. opposed to sending people to hell.. or trying to prove yourself to God or Jesus so that you can live your eternal life in Heaven.

I don't know about you.. but that's what I think...

its beyond our comprehension...thats all i can say....one day i will probably know the answer...but at that moment my mind will explode and ill be all brain dead....oh well

Sub-atomic particles known as quarks are smaller. o_o just to let you know...

Alright. Thanks for telling me.

All matter is created from energy during the very early time in bigbang. What crates this energy, or alternatively, what turns into energy before engergy turns into matter, we wouldnt know. We wouldn't know what happen before the Planck time(10^minu53 seconds after the bigbang or something like that), I am sure our scientists are working hard on it, but we wouldn't know yet at least for some time.

With this I think the God in the OT bible say his name is in response to Moses question very interesting. 'I am'. What is this? Someone already knows the ultimate question of the creator/creation/loop/beginning.
