Hello Lottie,
I respect your opinion. However I have looked at the photo as a
skeptic and as a paranormal investigator. I have shown this to many
people and most have have picked out the form of the Bell Witch.
Again, thank you for your opinion.

Methinks a case of highly coincidental rock patterning there. Look at the right shoulder-line (as you look at the picture, so would be her left), it exactly joins the line in the rock that runs off to the right. Plus, the face is triangular, bit of an odd shape for a spirit dontcha think. If you look at it closely it is clearly all rock, yet when you apply your own perspective to it i.e. looking for a spirit then it could be shaped to it.

I'm gonna have to agree with lottie and Richdog.
Quite simply put, i could take a picture of a forest, and most likely be able to make out somesort of figure in the leaves. This is just our minds creating patterns from formations where there really are no patterns.
Besides, even if if was a 'spirit' in the photo, why would it nessesarily be the Bell Witch of all of them?

Hi Richdog,
LOL thanks for the 2 cents worth. The figure of the witch is turned side ways.
That explains the triangular face. I have tried something here, and have attached it . I'm not the best artist, but I have tried to outline the form.
Maybe this will help. Does this help?

LOL oh please you've got to be kidding me, that's hilarious! Your "outline" is stretching things a bit much, in fact i'd go so far as to say ludicrous. Funny though.

Well thats very welcome news

But since when does a rock look like it's reading a book.
Love, Peace and Happiness

Since
you looked at it and saw what you wanted to see. If you had been given that picture and hadn't have know what it was supposed to be would you have ever likened it to a spirit reading? I'm not having a go, it's just quite clear from looking at it that you've seen what you want to see. I'd be interested to see another picture of that cave in daylight from the same angle, i'm guessing the 'spirit' would still be there all day every day... seeing as the rocks won't move any time soon.

Hi

I would chalk it up as an odd rock formation and seeing what you want to see. I think if you weren't familiar with the place and the legend of the bell witch then you might not see it as the witch. I showed the picture to my girlfriend who thought she saw a fish /shrug go figure.
Happy holidays to you and yours.

The proportion is way off when compared to the depth of the hole, and the figure blends in with the rocks. I really don't think it's anything aside from a rock formation.

An interesting picture...
When first I glanced at the original picture you posted (without the outline) it took quite a stretch of eye-straining ogling in order for me to visually disseminate what you deemed as figure, from shadows and the overall detracting haziness of the picture--probably due to the format in which the photo is presented.
I will concede, once my eyes gave form to the predisposed idea of a woman, possibly sitting, holding a book: it was blatantly evident to me how you reached your conclusion that this photo does appear to contain a faint, etherial silhouette of a woman.
Of course, for me, I can easily rationalize this observation by blaming my artistic eye--which can turn a carpet or floral pattern into any number of faces, and, or, objects (yes, much like "seeing" images in clouds); the only difference being that in a floral pattern if I turn away from the "image", which my mind has projected upon the floral pattern, I often have difficulty re-grasping the elusive form, which just moments before, I saw so vividly; in this case I see the woman every time I set my eyes upon that picture.
That being said, I don't believe in any way, shape, or form, that the photo actually contains an authentic ghostly apparition (if such a thing exists in this realm of reality).
Sorry.
I neither doubt your forthrightness, nor do I arbitrarily discount any conclusions that you may have divined from this photograph--if I were a proponent for ghosts, I could rightly ask a skeptic to account for the tonal difference between what seems to be a blue-lit cavern and the obvious flesh-like tone of the woman's face. But, as I have previously stated, I am no advocate for spiritual manifestations of the dead.
Finally, I would conjecture that the photo is either a "fake"--which would account for the ability to clearly discern the image; or it is an optic illusion, a case in which one sees what they want to. I am, in all honestly, more inclined toward the latter; the face is too flat, the forehead too long, and the facial features too dark to be a well-done artistic fake--although it might be an anatomically incorrect fake, for all I know.
Thanks for posting the picture.
Keep on believing in something...

Hi Stephanie,

I appreciate that you can't see it.. Thanks for the response. I'm going to post one more photo of the spirit again. This time I have lightened the picture. You can view it on down the post. Let me know what you think.

I *do* see it, but as I said before, the proportion is still too weird for it to be the bell witch. The figure is a bit small when compared to the distance into the hole it is. I'm not sure if you consider that rock on the left covering the image or not, but if it isn't then the neck of the 'witch' is also fairly long.

I hardly believe in or that it is a ghost, so I'm going to say it was painted on the rocks.
