Hi all,

I was always curious to know excatly why many of us are either religious or spiritual. Plz forgive me if I could not think of other choices, even if they are obvious....just check others and explain the details please happy.gif

I really wish to keep this thread civilized. You dont even need to say what religion or spiritual path you persue. And if others do, please respect their opinions and faith. This pools is only to know the reason why we choose to follow these path, not trying to figure out wich one is better. Or to bash someone because we think is reasons are stupid.

as for me, it is for enlighment and always striving to be a better person. By doing this, I hope to bring love and hope in the sadness in the world and strive for a healthy balance for everyone. And of course my faith drives me to always learn more to find truth in everything, let it be paranormal ,spiritual and every day life occurences.

So what about you?

I am not a member of the mind-less masses nor am I person who seeks fellowship from a religious stand point.

I simply try to learn, study and grow as much as I can every day.

Isn't that why we are here, to gain knowledge and become better people?

It does not matter who or what you belive in as long as it comes from within.

the pure reason is that Jesus is my best firend. I always have someone there for me when I am down, and he does not judge me or hurt me. I blame my problems on him somtimes, and in the end relize that it was for the best and better things. I just like someone there.

I consider myself to be a spiritual person. I think I have to be spiritual because, like all people, I am somewhat afraid of death. Researching reincarnation and studying the teachings of the Buddha helps me to recognize that this material world is temporary and my soul, along with the souls of those I love, will continue on into another life.

It's not about "higher forces" to me - because I don't really believe in any deities. It's more about a sense of security. Having a philosophy to live by helps me strive to be a better person, but I abide by the Mahayana belief that I must help others better themselves and reach Enlightenment before I myself do. I'm not concerned with Enlightenment, but with learning and preparing my soul for the next life. I try to avoid any disastrous karmic ations - that is, unnecessary harm to others, and when I do harm others, I feel guilty. That is my philosophy - I hesitate to call it a religion.

For me it is enlightenment. I am trying to make sense of the experiences that I have had in my life. Somethings just can't be explained by conventual science. You have to explore deeper. My religion does that for me.

I know what you mean wink2.gif

from what I saw, many Bouddhist hesitate to call Bouddhist a religion.....they tend think of it more as a philosophy of life.

Thanks for sharing

all of you original.gif
