Let's not forget his "putting food on your family" and "wings take dream" lines. Bush is a gold mine of comedy, although I doubt that that's Rove's intent...

Even I...a staunch Bush supporter...find amusement in some of his musings grin2.gif

However, as a Bush Supporter, let me point out that the man is genuine and doesn't fake it...like putting stones in the form of a cross on the beach at Normandy, or laughing with his top aid at the beach of Normandy and then suddenly biting his lower lip and crying when he sees the cameras.....

Why do you say "false"? Snopes found most of the quotes to be actual statements that Bush had made.
man_in_mudboots
sorry, Elfstone, you might want to come ((( here ))) and re-read it. Snopes has a list of those EXACT same quotes Manfred posted, in the EXACT same order, and concluded that NONE were from Bush.

Ahh....................bush is dumb
~TheBigK~
Regardless of if Bush really did say all those things it's still hilarious. And I actually watched him say these ones on the news and other various places.

"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."

"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

"Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?"

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

Wow... no.gif
man_in_mudboots
yes, he can be goofy at times. but who on earth has never been goofy? who has never mis-spoken?

but apparently he did a good enough job at running the country to have a majority of Americans vote to make him president again.

"And so, in my State of the -- my State of the Union -- or state -- my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it, speech to the nation -- I asked Americans to give four thousand years -- four thousand hours over the next -- the rest of your life -- of service to America." April 9, 2002

"We need an energy bill that encourages consumption." September 23, 2002

"When I was coming up it was a dangerous world, and you knew exactly who the "they" were. It was us versus them, and it was clear who them was." January 21, 2000

"This foreign policy stuff is a little frustrating." April 23, 2002

"A surplus means there'll be money left over. Otherwise, it wouldn't be called a surplus." October 27, 2000

Oh, I'd seen that on Snopes before. It's an email that was circulated attributing a long list of foolish quotes to either Bush or Kerry (in 2000 they were also attributed to Gore). Of the ones on the list (I didn't compare them with Manfred's list) most were either Quayle quotes or "Quayleisms" made up by comedians who were making fun of Quayle. There was one on the list which was from Bush, though I forget what it was.

The Snopes page I got from your first post, though, was to a poem made up of dumb quotes from Bush. Snopes concluded that those were, in fact, legitimate.

I have an ebook of Bushims and a calendar of them. All of those quotes are documented as to when and where he said them.

For example: "This Thursday, ticket counters and airplanes will fly out of Ronald Reagan Airport." -- Arlington, VA; Oct 2, 2001

"For a century and a half now, America and Japan have formed one of the great and enduring alliances of modern times." -- Tokyo, Japan; February 18, 2002

"The reason I believe in a large tax cut is because it's what I believe" -- Washington, D.C.; December 18, 2000

Eh, I like Bush despite his many flaws. hmm.gif I think its good that he spends more time running the country than trying to perfect his speech. It just shows that he's a busy guy! thumbsup.gif
