Currently, there is no reliable or repeatable phenomena which can be considered evidence that such a phenomena as ghosts exists. All available data is subjective, as in personal accounts (which even in a court of law are considered circumstancial), or has far too many other, natural, factors which could be considered responsible for the effects.
This does not automatically mean that supernatural phenomena is unexistant. It does mean that the scientific community currently has no way to measure or detect it, making it meaningless to science. Also, the evidence that does exist has had such bad historic credibility, that the likelyhood of any given piece of evidence having good credibility is very low.
In all, the scientific viewpoint is that there is no evidence to indicate that the supernatural exists, and the possibility of it actually existing is very low.
