Billions of years ago life on our planet began in the sea; our ancestors, the source of all life on this planet, grew and evolved there. Who knows what kind of new life is developing down there as we speak?

Dec 25 2004, 10:15 PM
Very true. There may be new species developing, that may become more powerfull then us. Or, there may be nothing. Its so unexplored, that its impossible to tell.

Add to the equation all the nuclear waste we dumped in it some odd decades ago (and are probably still doing) And you realize that almost anything could be down there...
TooFarGone
Dec 25 2004, 10:53 PM
Very true. We could be creating nuclear giant squids. Christ, that would suck.
Walken
Dec 25 2004, 11:18 PM
Not if they were friendly squids. I've never met a nasty squid, but i've never met a friendly squid either, so give generously to all, i say.
Seriously though, imagine the possibilatys. Lock ness monsters are actually nuclear goldfish!!!

Lochness "monster" is a mutated turtle without the shell!!!!.... I'm wondering where dolphins are going to go in their evolution.... I think they'll be the next species to dominate the planet.....

If velociraptors were still alive today, its likley they'd the the planets dominant species.
Canadian Rottweiler
Dec 26 2004, 04:26 PM
Yeah,Velociraptors would be.Them or sharks.
Dezmond
Dec 26 2004, 06:07 PM
Sharks lived with the dinosaurs, but they didn't evolved much. So probably also not in intelligence.
But velociraptors were probably the most smart dino's that lived. I think at least I know Troodon's were smart to. Or some other undiscoverd dino specie that is smarter.
But I do know that most new live that we will find will probably be in the sea, we still haven't explored much of it, yet.
Is it true that at least 1 new specie is found everyday. (plant/insect/animal and all of that?)

Thats really interesting, I've never thought of that before. Sort of unnerving though. I've heard that we do find a new species everyday, but we also kill off a plant species each day from deforestation. Im not sure if those are true, but it seems quite possible.
Walken
Dec 26 2004, 07:31 PM
I'm not sure its 1 a day, but they're always being found. Funniy though, we seem to be finding variations, if you will, to already exsiting species. I look foward to the day we find a completley new organsim, although the very concept of evoloution may prevent that.

There ARE gigantic monsters out there, not only in the deepest depths of the oceans: caves, snowed mountains, desolated areas, maybe even in the air... (killing rods

)
No but seriously, we shouldn't be that ignorant, but still, we need PROOF!!

Agreed. It's just so hard to get when no one takes the feild seriously.
jessicalawes11
Mar 13 2005, 12:25 PM
That is true. If you think about it though, we can't go down there with great ease, so how would we see these new speices? Creepy...
And about that deforestation thing, we do wipe out at least one species, (Plant, animal or insect) every day. One of these plants could be the cure for all cancers! And we would never know...

There could be some very interesting stuff down
there, wouldn't have to be a dominant species...

2% of Earth's oceans has been discovered. The 98% contains about a couple of billion undsicovered species...
Walken
Mar 13 2005, 09:11 PM
I don't think its a billion.
And I thought it was 5%?
Wasn't this underdebate not long ago?
MJB222
Mar 14 2005, 12:27 AM
5%, 2%, still not much either way. It would be fun to go down there to see what creatures there are.

ya Troodons and Velociraptors are known that if they did survive they would have became the dominant species of earth instead of mammals (humans) so ya.. were lucky lol otherwise instead of skin and small eyes we could have big eyes or sharp eyes (like cats) but with scaley skin like lizards or snakes

sounds familiar like alien reports

<- big eyes hehe
also i got a feeling that theres something big and nasty down there in the deep

like a giant fish with sharp ass teeth

or something lol

I think something more like a giant killer octopus.

Get this:
Did you know why dolphins open their mouths when they squeak?
They make noise through their blow hole things. They don't need to do it.
They do it to imitate humans.

Velociraptors aren't really as smart as chimps, that was something made up for Jurassic Park. Also they were only about 3 feet tall in real life, as opposed to the 5 footers in JP.

I also think the best change for some new creature to be found or rumored to exist will probably be in the sea.
We really know nothing of what lives down there, maybe in the future we will but I have my doubts.
