When i was a boy, i've observed that ordinary house cat could kill a bird by means i can not understand.
There is a bird on top of the tree and a cat on the ground. The cat was stationary and looking only to the bird on top. Then suddenly the bird just dropped shivering while its falling and still shivering on the ground and then suddenly the bird just died. Well, i'm not surprised if the poor bird was just a few feet away from the cat, it really might panic and died. Many times i witnessed this event. Is the cat using pychic power of their own?

wow...that is pretty interesting. I wish I could of witness that too

makes me think of my cat. He look at me that way too. I call it the stare game. I always win in the end. I hope is not secretly trying to kill me and eat me laugh.gif

but seriously, it is indeed curious what happen. I cant say they are or not..truth is I dont know.

I know what a stare can do, but I had never heard that one before.

I am curisou to see what others think about that....

sit patiently and wait

I've heard of it before, but i've never seen it..

I think it is possible, i mean animals DO have psychic abilities, maybe the cat has developed it and became an xpert...
aquatus1
Alternatively, the cat could have simply noticed the bird was in some kind of distress, and was waiting patiently for it to react in some weakened manner.
psychicpowersarenice
Who knows? It's possible animals could have psychic powers.

Dogs seem to have empathy naturally. One day my dog relieved himself on my bed in both ways, on purpose, then when I walked near him after seeing it he whimpered so much and ran under the table tail in legs...

Also I believe that they have healing as well.Whenever I'm stressed I just lie down with the dog and I feel relaxed alot more..

I have seen it more than ten times as i always follow that cat.
Everytime that cat was looking up the tree, a bird just suddenly fall shivering.

Well, all races have beliefs, the human race(for the most part) believes in higher beings, God, Devil. Maybe its the same with cats, and unfortunatly your cat is the one playing the role of the Devil ^^ I know this is very far fetched but Hey! atleast I responded in a new way... Happy Huntings tongue.gif (im not serious)

Whose to say animals dont have MORE psychic potentiol than humans?
Mr_Mooo_Cow
Obviously not the cat. tongue.gif MEOW What was that? MEOW Oh you have higher psychic potential then us? OK ... also taking into consideration we know every aspect about almost all land animals in existance, brain size, history, everything and anything. Then we also research ourselves, and frankly by statsistics we are much smarter beings, so yes I would say we have a higher potential, keyword potential, not use.

Psychic power? No. With their fast metabolism and heart-rate, birds are extraoardinarily subsceptible to going into shock. If for some reason the bird missed the cat's approach and just happened to notice it as it was close up it may have died of fright. Alternatively the cat could easily have wounded the bird earlier and been waiting for it to die; and you were there to witness the cat's patience paying off.
And let's not forget sickness. A cat is a predator after all. It doesn't have to be psychic to sense weakness or disease in it's prey. It's a natural function of it's role as a hunter to track the sick. This definitely isn't unlikely in our time as wide-scale Avian die-offs have become common due to various avian flus' and West-Nile virus and the like. It's possible your cat just learned to identify sick birds and wait for them to die rather than go through the effort of hunting healthy ones..

Well, my cats are all psychic. Um, I mean psychotic. laugh.gif Anyway, they don't stalk birds, but I don't dare leave a frozen pizza out on the counter while the oven heats up!

Take the cat, and put it on your head, then head to africa for tons of fun hunting...

Interesting............ Yes, my cat eats birds, rabbits, mice/rats, and even tries to eat my dogs hmm.gif tongue.gif I have never seen him do anything like that, maybe the cat is Bast (egyptian cat god) tongue.gif

I have noticed that my cat just stares at walls and nothing, maybe they can see spirits disgust.gif
scipherel
uhh uhh...it's not my cat. It's a street black cat that i used to observed.
That's the only cat that do it and i fully observed what was happening coz
i was on a balcony, and i have a fair view between the two subject. I spotted
the bird on the twigs began to shake then just fall. I was very interested on that
cat thats why i followed its movements. Whenever the cat was there in my place,
i will watch and wait because i always wanted to see and know why it can kill a
bird by just looking or staring and the cat wasn't moving at all.
