I've used one, and for a good while it scared me and my friends a looot... we actually believed it was spirits talking to us and strange things started to happen - like, for example, I actually began to "see" ghosts - but now I believe that it all just went to my head and I created those ghost images myself.

In my opinion, I think it's you that's moving the "eye" or "pointer", and the answers you get are answers that you want to hear. Or maybe you don't want to hear those answers specifically, but they're based on what your subconscious thinks about the questions asked. Because a lot of the answers I got were things I wanted to happen, and the Board said they'd happen... but they haven't yet and it's well past the time that the Board claimed the things would happen. As for the other answers... no, I didn't want those answers but it seemed like the logical answer to my question, or at least that's what I thought would happen even if I didn't want it to. Eh, sorry, I'm not making sense.

Anyway, the only thing that I could find about my own experiences that could prove me wrong in my belief that it's you controlling the Board is the fact that after one time using the Ouija Board, my friends and I asked for a sign from the ghost and later on we found a handprint in the dust on my TV. The handprint looked like an old woman's... and the handprint was strange. Usually if you were to make a handprint there would be a few spaces because your hand isn't perfectly flat, but this handprint had no spaces and it was shaky. We tried to re-create the handprint but there was no success. All our attempts contained those spaces you find in normal handprints. Weird stuff.

There is no way on God's green Earth that I would ever use one...(I've considered it but to play it safe I say not a chance...) thumbsup.gif

As far as I know there is no law in the UK banning boards . A ban sounds a bit like an urban myth to me.

Personally I would never use one. Its bad enough when my cats both fluff up to double their normal size after I watch a corney horror film. w00t.gif

I guess the only thing that concerns me about using Ouija boards is not any special magical or paranormal power they have(which they do not), rather that they powerfully facilitate a focused attitude within the users of contacting spiritual entities or those on the "other side"
That's what gives it its potential power of a gateway. The board itself facilitates a "dwell" attitude(thinking intensely about a particular subject for an extended time)
And with 2 users, not only is the attitude dynamically reinforced, but different hands on the plachette invoke a not so pure but available "randomness" or "white noise"
Most curious of all, paranormal events seem to express themselves more so in ways that the event can be refuted. Perhaps this is a way to maintain "free will"? Who knows, but Ouija board results, having 2 users, can never be shown to be actually paranormal, thus allowing, possibly, the phenomenon to express itself without violating free will.

I've used a Quija Board, scared the hell out of me. Two of my friends and I were sitting in her bedroom and decided to try it out. We contacted a male entity, don't remember the name he gave us, but I had asked it a question nobody else in the room would know and to my surprise it gave me the exact answer, I stopped right there and told them I couldn't continue. They knew I wasn't kidding, my face was as white as a ghost. I would do it again in a heart beat, too bad no one I know would do it.

You can call me DS tongue.gif And yesh, thats pretty much it is, its not that a spirirt is already in your house, its beckons them from the 'spiritual plane' to come and pay you a visit, but sometimes its more like.

"Hey Paul theres another one to go terrorize!"
"Yippee!1"

Cause like I and others have said already, not all spirits are nice. original.gif

I once used an online board, and since then my mouse is acting wierd.

Whenever I am on the computer the mouse sometimes goes up on it's own, or it starts to shake.

I thought maybe a virus or something so I restarted my whole computer and I still have that problem.

Don't know if anyone saw this but...

Recently on UK tv we had a programme from a psychological illusionist called 'Derren Browns haunting' I think. He took us to a house where 5 years ago 15 teenagers died in a suicide pact. He took 8 college students with him and they did a number of things, includeing use a  ouija board and lock one of them in a dark room.

The girl in the dark room told how she saw the ghost of one of them, a Mrs. Francis Ballmark, and the same ghost made contact with the group when they did a ouija board.

Now heres the intresting bit; at the end of the show he told us that the suicide pact was made up and never happened; the building was brand new and just built for the show, and that none of the teens we were told killed themselves have ever exsisted.

So thats a good peice of evibdence for non-beleivers, i guess.

Just wondering what people thought of the mysterios Ouiji board.

i have a long story to tell
Emcee
I wanted to when I was younger.

But now, seriously, with my luck I'd end up with Satan himself.

Especially since I thought I sold my soul.

I'm too much of a wiener to do the Ouija now. unsure.gif

They have online boards?
This is news to me.

Aside from the shake-mouse, what was it like?

Actually even though I voted yes, I did not and would not. I confused it with a plumb line. I used a plumb like a quija board when I was about 12. Researched the stuff behind it and decided not to follow the false deities of India ascribed to the set I had. I am soooooo glad I stopped. I would not suggest that anyone ever gets involved with a quija or any other fortune telling or dead spirit talking methods or devices.

Deuteronomy 18
9When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

Sorry for the late reply, but me and a friend of mine used it.
It just moved a bit up and down, not going towards any letters/numbers when we asked questions.
But since I have used one my mouse starts shaking on it's own, or it goes up.
Really wierd,

My mother who is behind the computer most of the day (because of her work) never experienced this, mouse shaking.
And my brother also...
But whenever I am on the computer within 5 minutes this happens. rolleyes.gif

I am not the only one who has seen this, I have like 10 people who have also seen this happening when I was on the computer, and they also ca't explain it.

So that is reason enough for me never to use a real board, think about what might happen.... mellow.gif

Ive used talking boards for quite awhile. I made the one i use, instead of using the parker brother boards. I know a lot about them. Ways you can tell if the spirits evil,How to tell if the spirit is trying to get out of the board, and other stuff....The worse thing you can do is burn 1. Supposedly if you burn a ouija and you hear screams you will dye in the near future.....Not a toy. I dont see why they sell it to kids...........  blink.gif

Maybe the reason parker brothers is selling it as a kids toy is that the CEO's of the company are possessed by demons forcing them to sell them to children to access there weak ample minds. happy.gif

No seriously I tried the board a couple of years ago with a couple of friends, we contacted 6 spirits and 2 demons, thankfully the demons must have been couch potatoes because nothing happened to me, but the answer's were not consistent as if we were trying to make an answer. crying.gif

I used one once when I was very young with my older sister...we never were allowed to have such things in our house so we made one...
It never worked.  I did buy one later on and it was one of those glow in the dark ones...it didn't work either.
Either way, knowing now how dangerous it could be...I would never use one again.

I'm curious as to how u made one of these things? Yea i'm not allowed to have anything to do with stuff like that in my house either....Not that i would want a ouija board in my house anyways laugh.gif

I think these boards are the most dangerous way to invite something in your house and open up a door to an evil entity........i think they should put a warning on those boards when they sell them or a disclaimer saying that whoever manufactures them is not responsible for anything that happens to you as a result of using the board tongue.gif grin2.gif

wavey.gif Sorry to jump in so late...and stuff. But I had an experience with a board that scared my little sister and all her friends half to death. After hearing everyone accuse everyone else of moving the pointer, I whipped out the correctional devices. Can you say blindfold? devil.gif Needless to say we didn't ever get through the first question without someone running off cryin. thumbsup.gif Downside was....nobody spoke to me for weeks.

i dont know if uoija boardswork or not. never tired. one. ghost are fascinating i think, but I'm not sure how real they are. I've heard and read so many stories about these buggers. I'm not too sure tho.Maybe a uoija board is a good conduter for finding them?

One side of me wants to use one to find out whether all this talk of daemons & spirits is true, but then the other side of me gets scared shitless when thinking about the possible backlash of doing it.
Spikester2488
I tried using one in my house once in the day while I was alone, but I got no response whatsoever. Mabe I didnt do it right...

We made ours once, when our friend had the glow in the dark one that we had been using. All we did was draw out the board on a piece of paper & use a shotglass. Worked fine for us.

But I was interested in what someone said about their computer mouse acting strange. I've never used an online Ouija, but my mouse does act weird. It's an optical mouse, or laser or whatever it's called where there isn't a mouse ball. & I could not even be touching the mouse & the cursor will move around my screen by itself. Probably a glitch or something, but it amusing to say it's possessed.

Oh! Another Ouija Board experience, I went ghost hunting with a few friends of mine, friends I often hunted with. We were on a mission one night, because we had concluded that an entity located in this one area was out to harm a member of our troop. She admitted to having irresponsibly conducted a seance there when she was very very young. We got this information through another spirit after she had started having night terrors & asthma-like attacks.

Anyway, we stopped going there, because the spirit who gave us the information, called himself Walt, was beginning to be evasive. We began to believe he was actually the entity (demon, whatever) that was trying to harm Faith (our friend).

After several weeks we returned, but this time Faith wasn't allowed on the board (usually her & I would conduct the conversation). While my other friend & I tried speaking to Walt, who seemed very sad that we didn't trust him, Faith started wandering a little too far from us. She was beginning to enter the woods that were about 50 feet from us. My friend asked Walt if he could please get Faith to come back to us (we couldn't call for her, it was late at night & we were kinda trespassing). The moment after the request was made, Faith turned around & headed back. She was too far away to have heard us.

IMO, the board, like table-tipping and other participant activities, are purely affected by the sitter's own movements. I have conducted lots of experiments with lots of subjects, and each time they seem to be contacting someone, and names etc are spelled out. Then I ask the sitters to close their eyes - the messages go haywire, making no sense whatever. Most Haunted did that too (the one good thing they have done, IMHO).

It seems likely to me that use of the board is tapping in to our childhood fears about the object - aren't we all told that demons etc can "come across" somehow? Its the same reason we get scared in dark places, or are scared of spiders: as kids we learnt to fear them for some reason, and now we still do.

By all means, steer clear of them if they scare you, but I don't think we should be under any illusion that the board itself is doing anything.

Just my 2 pennies-worth.

funny you should mention the lazer mouse, I use one and it does the same thing to me, jumps all over the place like it has its own mind.........I was told it reads off the mouse pad your using and that you should use a mouse pad that has nothing on it, since I switched to a white mouse pad it hasn't happened........
