I hear this all the time. People that say that i have to watch out because if i make them mad they become much stronger. Yet, is this really true? Do emotions increase your power. Or is it just because the person attacks in a fury of blind rage that it seems that he is stronger. I watch Dragonball Z and in a certain episode a certain Super Saiyan named Gohan becomes a Super Saiyan II because of the death of someone good. I know that it isn't smart to compare DBZ and the real world with eachother but this is the only other example that i found about this subject so i have to say it. Can emotions like fear, anger or sadness unlock your inner strenght and make you all powerfull or is this just a myth?

Ummm I don't think people technically get stronger, the potential is always there, but being a sane human lets people hold back. Anger usually just blinds people and resort to brute force, which usually just turns out bad. Well even being a cartoon, think about all your family dying, id be pretty pissed too, or just your parents or sumthin. So its not really unlocking anything, just letting go of fear of what might happen if you go too far.

From my experiences in life, ive been beat by other people, dragged around, and many such things, so as I grew older I obviously didn't stay in the same shape I was, I grew up, so now no one goes near me(only if I don't want them too). Although there are still a hand full of people in my school that could probably take me, but we have mutual relationships. The only thing that ticks me off is when people push other people around for no reason, or when people just dish out verbal abuse. Reflecting on personal past times is what keeps me sane, holding back if you will. Its not hard to go walk on the streets and beat up everyone you know is weaker then you. Being a sane human usually keeps you from doing so. I think I do have a anger problem, I think I get that trait from my father, and I have been accounted for lashing out at someone before. Infact I got arrested for doing so... Knowing concequences also helps... But don't get me wrong by anger problem I mean only when I get really pissed off, which does not happen often, im a very laid back person if you let me be. Another long story to show my point... Sooooo in conclusion just because a close friend or family died I wouldn't go flash and my hair turn yellow gold, and my body muscles triple in size and go fly away, killing whoever did it. Potential is there, anger lets it out.

You don't literally get stronger, but you get stronger in the sense that you can use all your force, and not worry about what's happening.

I also read this a lot, relying on your emotions just expands your limits in tapping in your abilities.

Like when you are enraged you make adrelanine (bad spelling I know). And you can sport better for example. Because of that.

So the same probably is for using any kinesis and other stuff.

I dont necesearily believe that adrenilen is the key to stronger power. Keeping calm and relaxed will be able to overpower any rage.
Rage will only last for a while untill you have no energy.
But keeping calm and relaxed will last as long as you want.
I just think that maybe adrenilin rushes may help you with some abilities (e.g, telepathic intrusion, mental blasts and that sort of thing that "hurts people") But with a calm and relaxed mind you can shield yourself from them much more longer.
I just dont think that Adrenilyn is a key ingrediant to using supernatural abilities as it can come out as a bad outcome.

Have you heard of a child under some huge pipe or something and the mother than comes and lifts it off, even if it is HUGE? Our fear, anger, hatred, sorrow unlock vaults we in our minds we hadn't known existed.
Curiosity
One word: adrenaline.
Fatal Fury
No.
The word that should have been used there is strength. In that story it showed nothing to do with any abilities whatsoever.
And I dont think that anyone would get "angry" while there child is under a pipe.
Maybe you should look at the word "panic".
Curiosity
Anger and panic are both emotions, no?
Fatal Fury
Yeah they are.
But adrenylin isnt an emotion...
Curiosity
I never said it was.

When experiencing extreme emotions, the brain sends signals to release adrenaline. This is what gives you the strength that you don't usually have. The emotion is what serves as the drive to keep going. This is why you hear stories about grannies lifting cars off of their grandchildren.

Adreanaline could also possibly influence the strength of powers.

It's been proven that hugging increases immunity to diseases. Knowing that, you could increase your life span. Being positive also adds years to your life. Go to deathclock.com and they ask you about your general attitude (pessimistic, sadistic, optimistic and normal).
