i doubt it, after stacy's mom went home, so did the fans

Thats because they are offically one hit wonders! But theres more to them than Stacys mom. They've been around since 1985 and I've been a huge fan as long as I can remember! They've had six albums, but only a couple of singles. I think they're amazingly under-rated though.
I'd rather listen to Nirvana, Audioslave
Nivarna are good but over-rated.
Oh! Oh! Fountains of Wayne did a cover of Smells like teen spirit! It was way out of their style though and came off a little desperate. Plus, Chris Collingwood has a sugary voice; nothing like Kurt Cobain.

the whole stacy's mom video was a tribute to both that movie (forget what its called) and the cars...and even the song starts out just like the one cars song...and i LOVE the cars, so theyre ok by me

No, it was staged by Courtney Love. Research the subject, you'll see I'm right. Heres one example; The 'suicide' note was actually a letter he sent to his fans a year earlier.

The scratchy voice wasn't because of the drugs...
Chester Beddington (also top guy) sings with a scratcy voice, however when he actually SING sings, he has a beautyful voice.

Well Walken, do you recommend any songs or albums to check out?
The album Welcome Interstate managers is good, but only if you like indie. If you're into rock, you might want to check out he self titled Fountains of Wayne album, which has an edge the others don't.
Utopia Parkway is my favourite. It combines their song writeing talent with their instrumental skill.
