i just thought to add my 2 cents


I agree with everyone here who says that the music is not the cause. A lot of people brought very good points.

They will live what they have to live and grow out of it.

How they will grow out of it is how they parent have showned them to. If the parents does not support the kids, never talk to them and show them how to think for themselves...then we all know what happen.

I dont think anything externally can bring a person to violence. What brings people to violence is how they feel internally about external things. If we are showned how to deal with them, they we are okay.

I grew up in a very disfunctionnal family, very poor. But I was always shown good moral values. I have never done anything againt's the law, never resorted to violence or gangs or any such things.

Even thought I had a hard childhood, like many do and listen to crappy music and smoke pot etc..etc... I dont think I turned out too bad

But I agree Queen of the night that many teenager do not listen to their parents....the problem is I think is that some parent wait at that point to try to get a control of their kids...TOO LATE...

somebody said that there was laws for age for smoking....drinking...driving....I almost agree that there should be some laws about making babies. Too much incompetent parent and then those kids are just left to themselves...really sad

Music can't be the cause I seen some people say music is the cause in deaths. BUT if music is the cause I would say video games are to. I seen some people bad talk rap but I also seen those same people post in the GRAND THEFT AUTO thread sayin home awesome the game way! Now if rap is bad then ya little video game is to! lol some people are juz hatin' on rap!

I think most people on this site don’t like hiphop/rap in general. I don’t blame you…rap now a days is garbage…not rap in general…only rap in mainstream….and this is the only rap/hiphop people get exposed too…not knowing that hiphop/rap can be an artistic genre

if you havnt guessed I listen to hiphop/rap…..but hate mainstream rap with a passion….they have no talent….what I wanted people to know is that there is a better form of hiphop/rap which most of it is underground….songs with meanings, lyrically talented artists, poets and talented producers…before judging rap/hiphop please also listen to the underground artists

artists that I would referrer to listen to are : Sage Francis, Atmosphere (Slug), Last Emperor, Rza, Wu-Tang (the original), U-God, Brother Ali, Spawn, Eyedea, Immortal Technique, K-os

There are a lot of rappers these days pre-tending to be from the “hood” or wat the media portrays as “gangster rap”…they give the real rappers who are from the hood a bad name…if you wanna know the truth about the hood listen to these artists: Tupac, Eazy E, Biggie, Naughty by Nature, Onxy, Bone Thugs N Harmony

Hiphop is not about bling, bling, cars, money and woman…I not a thug or a gangster…I don’t wear my pants half way down my legs and I don’t wear my hat just resting on my head with the rim as straight as can be…and I don’t just listen to hiphop..i listen to rock, euro-dance, grunge, punk, everything.

I just hate it when people only think that the mainstream hiphop/rap is the only thing that hiphop/rap has to offer…just my two cents

I think it's just this site also I bet about 5% people on this site like rap music. People who like rap must not be the same people who like paranormal

Like that other person said, its not rap in general. Rap is just a small part of the nasty media today. And also like I said a thousand times, Its not about loving or hating any kind of music. Its about censoring the public media to prevent little kids, and immature teens from acting and role playing what they hear. If you can listen to rap or watever without doing that, then this discussion has nothing to do with you.

I know what your saying I know a few teens who let it go to their head, but like I say that's the parents job! I know many teens who are asses who take music to the head. But rap also helps many teens to continue their like and make good choices it's upon the listener to be responcible for what their listening to.

i agree that little kids shouldnt listen to rap but u gotta understand that thug life is sometimes the only choice

the bottom line is, you'll never understand or apprecaite rap fully unless you've come from that bcakground. you can't understand what you haven't lived.

I don't know this rap thread is really annoying so many rock threads and we don't go there hating on them! So at least yall should not make a rap hatin thread!

^exactly, we at least have the decency not to come onto the rock threads and start attacking rock. I mean, I like all types of music including rock, but rap is a lot better to me, but I don't go making threads about how bad rock is and all this other crap. and if I did, I''m sure someone would complain and have it locked.

Yeah me & MHX need to make a rap thread! We need to make one for rap lovers not much here, but there a few. And hopefully we will have no hate there! We can ask rap haterz to please stay out of the thread.

Understand? Sure most likely not.... but appreciation is in the eye of the beholder. Someone who looks at a painting can appreciate it if they are not an artist. Same way someone can appreciate how talented Michael Jordon was, without being a basketballer.

I like rap, not its biggest fan, but I do have a few artists I like. I am not from there background, but I do appreciate them.

well, being from the same background gives you a different apprecation. An appreciation for the hard times they've been through. I respect your appreciation towards teh music though!

I hardly listen to rap and I really don't like it. There are some songs that I'll try to listen to or some music videos that I'll watch and laugh my @$$ off. I've seen some bad music videos and it just gets worse whenever a new rapper comes into all of this sh**. I think that a lot of these rappers, should really open their eyes and see what's happening now. I think that they shouldn't be rapping about "b*****s and hoes" because some of those "b*****s and hoes" aren't really either. I just think that these 'songs' and 'raps' should be taken into consideration and think about what it affects.

Well like I said not all rap songs are like that. But some girls are those words. Just think why is it so bad for a guy to call a girl that,but when a girl calls a girl that it's fine??? Now theres some girl B***h*s, but there is also guy B***h*s too so I say if you don't like it DON'T LISTEN TO IT! Nobody is forcing you to listren to it.

you one thing I noticed no one here notices? a lotta times they just use those words to make lines rhyme. *sighs* they'll never understand so why bother?
