It turns out there are vampires, but not like the ones in the movies, just people who need to drink blood to because they have low energy... and if they don't need it, they drink it anyway... interesting

Isn't there some weird disease where there is something wrong with hemoglobin production, thus leading the individual to believe that they need to drink blood? I think it has something to do with the stomach, like it causes severe pains and by drinking blood these are relieved for a short period of time...any opinions on this?

I've only heard about serial killers who get a rush out of drinking the blood of their victims for pleasure, but it's purely psychological. And gross.

Well, see there are people wo enjoy calling themselves vampires to get attention. No one needs to drink blood. Drinking blood makes you sick if you drink more than about a pint (a line from the movie fightclub comes to mind) Ya shouldn't drink blood anyway.

If you have blood loss, major blood loss then you may have to get blood through your mouth because you can spread it over a wound because it doesn't sink into your skin, blood is too thick. My theory on the vampires is like when people die from bloodloss and some power be it zombie or anything like that keeps them alive. And the body will do strange things to sustain life so some people get weird urges and abilities to sustain life.
Hope i didn't confuse you.....

I saw on Ripley's some guy that used to eat rotten meat to ease his stomache pains he used to get from eating fresh foods. Some virus he had, but either way....really gross...
But I never heard of drinking blood for that purpose.
I have heard of psy vampires and believe that those do exist. There are just some people that enter the room and the level of energy just goes way down...but that could just be because they really stink....lol

Drinking blood doesn't help anemic ppl, remember when you drink something it actually goes into your stomach to be digest. You break blood down into protein mainly. And anemic ppl are not craving for iron if they really want iron why don't they lick an iron bar?

There is apparently and entire sub-culture of people who only go out at night, hold grave-yard shifts of their jobs, and actually "feed" off of one another during blood letting ceremonies. I am not that clear on their rituals and practises though, if anyone knows more about this I would really like to listen.

No, not the gothic sub-culture, that is a whole other thing. This is very different. I know lots of people who are gothic, but no one who practises vampirism.

Sometimes these are symptoms of porphyria. The gums sometimes retreat, making the person's teeth look bigger.

It was published in the u.k. awhile ago, anyone heard of it?
there are various conditions and diseases that is often linked with vampirism but they can be medically explained. there are these two boys that live in england and their skin is completely vulnerable to sunlight (it can kill them) can't remember what its called but its pretty sad.

What would a more modern and scientific discription be for a Vampire? I would really like to know. Would it really be possible to extend ones life for any amount of time by consuming blood? Is there a really a key to immortality hidden in our world? Is there any validity to any of the Vampire stories we've ever read? Such as Bram Stokers Dracula or Anne Rices Vampire Chronicles.

Question:
1. Vampirism is a psychological disorder.
2. It would not be possible to extend ones life by consuming blood, it would make you sick.
3. I don't know.
4. There is no validity (that I know of) in those stories.
Hope that helps.

drinking blood does not make one strong. one of the reasons food id cooked is so that the raw blood is cooked out. raw blood is much more likely to give you salmonella than three week old chicken. don't drink blood kids.
Oh and by the by i remembered somthing. In medeavel times vampire and werewolves were about the same thing. vampires were said to be satanic creatures of the undead that prayanimal like of the living. they didn't drink the blood they simply bit out the neck. most carniverous animals attack at the neck too because the jugulr is the fastest way to bring down animals, esspacially people because of our large brain. our brain neeeds alot of blood and the brain dies very fast. if the jugular is cut it kills you faster than if your stabbed in the heart

have a nice day

The average human body can live off of blood for a maximum of two weeks. After that the body begins to change physically to feed itself the nutrients that blood lacks, such as fiber and the proper vitamins required for bodily functions. And just as an added note; the lack of fiber in this diet has certain bowel side effects.
