linkI just saw a trailer for this movie. I liked the first one and this one uses some of the same characters(that survived) in the sequel.
Any thoughts about how you think it will be for anyone that has seen the trailer?

I think from what I saw from the preview...there was that girl from the first movie that was in the psych ward, remember the first girl that dies? the friend...
they don't show her face, but you see the long dark hair and she is cutting paper into circles...
Maybe somewhere along the way, something happens to her and she starts a new curse...I dunno...

I liked the first one and I'll try to check out this second one. I just wish that they would have come up with a better name than "The Ring 2"

I heard that some movie company or something gets ahold of the tape and starts selling it, but I dont know if thats true. prolly not cuz it was just a rumor. I liked the 1st one, I love Japanese horror movies. (or the American remakes) The Grudge too. But seeing as The Ring 2 has nothing to do with the people who made the original (Ringu) I dont think it will be as good as the 1st. Plus, horror movie sequels tend to not be good, hopefully they wont murder this one. lol

I agree completely about the whole sequels are never as good as the original...except Terminator...but that wasn't necessarily a horror movie.
Either way...I do want to see how they are gonna attempt this.
after checking out the site...I guess a string of deaths happen somewhere else and she investigates it but there is something more....who knows...I could barely read the tiny writing on the site telling about the movie.

i loved the first ring, the grudge i thought was garbage, but the ring 2 i hope will be good, i cant wait to see that one, that one and White Noise

oh i LOVED the ring!!!!!! i thought it was soooo good...i havnt seen the Grudge...but im seeing it tomorrow! ahhhh! im actually scared!!!

im such a sucker for scary movies, i get scared for NOTHING, so im sure the Grudge will scare the crap outa me

I really like horror movies, too, but I just wasn't as impressed by The Ring' as I hoped I would. Maybe I had my hopes up too high... but the end was very, very creepy. I saw Ringu (the Japanese version) as well as a 'The Grudge' and have learned that apparently the scariest thing to Japanese people is pale kids with stringy hair.

hahah absolutely . Ringu was pretty dumb even for it's time, and the Grudge was so poor i think i get more scared watching barney.

But i really did like The Ring, so much i brought it. I loved the style of movie, the shocks and the storyline. However, i don't think a second movie would compare. Mostly we'd be used to the style already so it's nothing new and therefore not as disturbing and creepy.

Is it also going to be like the Japanese Ring 2?

It may have been a lot of things, but I don't know what about it was "terrible". It had good effects, nice acting, creepy-creepy images, and an overall sturdy plot (eh...give or take, but I am a movie Nazi ). Not an Oscar winner, but who goes to Horror movies for deep cinema?

yeah the japanese really are obcessed with that image (female, face half covered by long stringy black hair)

lots of their myths include that entity...theres one i saw on tv, about a witch woman who stands by the road, dressed all in white, long black hair, pale fricken scary face! apparently she eats little kids...! ah!

the ring was a good movie. the grudge was spooky at times...omg i went to see it with the girls and when the guy commits suicide at the beginning the two for some bizarre reason found it hilarious, something about the 'way he jumped'... so they were in hysterics beside me and everyone just stared over at us confused and amazed

wasn't the japanese version just called 'ring'? i saw that on the sci fi channel...it was boring till the end when she goes all spooky and does that horrifying jerky walk thingy

what about it was terrible??? ok. how about this. it was a boring pile of crap that wasnt scary in the least and makes almost no sense. the japanese have a thing about making their horror movies not make any sense. i dont know why.

look at it in this perspective...how terrible of a movie do you think The Ring was considering that it is a PG-13 movie?
I was pretty shocked when I found out...and I liked it either way.

I've seen part of the Japanese Ring 2. The young boy featured in it, he had to go stay with a friend of his mothers, that's all I remember.

There is already a Japanese Ring2, ive seen it many times, and its kinda boring but bit scary sometimes tough.
RINGU is the romanisation of リングwich is Japanese for ring. Its written RING, but you say RINGU and make the U sound quiet, like Japanese people pronounce it.

I saw a new trailer for 2 while watching White Noise. I still think it looks dumb as hell. Ill wait to rent the DVD before I see it.

well since the first ring was mega crap, I'm guessing that the sequel will be compltete crap. no offense, but the ring was my most hated horror movie. I thouhgt it was gonna be scary because everyone siad it was horrifyng, and when I saw it, I felt like the joke was on me

im sick of like EVERY friggin horror movie that comes out now is called "the scariest movie in years" or "scariest movie since the Exorcist". it pisses me off. all of the movies that have that quote in them are all the same and they all suck.
