We could have a group of recommenders and there would be 9 of the them. They would be able to recommend people to be mods or admins plus they would also be able to recommend people for the debate team staff but a mod or admin would have to approve. They would be able to lock topics/polls and edit post that are bothersome or against the rules except on these four boards Hobbies,Website updates,Debates, and Computing and the Internet. Also they would be have pms that are bothersome or against the rules sent to them and the recommenders would be able to delete it or fix it.They also would be able to pm warnings to users if they broke the rules and the mods, admins or recommders would be to disable the person's pm if they send more than 5 bothersome pms and recommenders wouldn't be allowed to reinstate it.

Great idea, mods and admins you'll really like it

I don't like it...I don't see a point either. It sounds just like a mod, but they can't mod in Hobbies, Website updates, Debates, and Computing.
I just can't see the point.

Same here.

The people who should be mods already are. When we need a new one, we'll get a new one. wink2.gif

Being a mod shouldn't be a popularity contest...it should be about who can do the job (that would probably be why the pole you put up early was deleted, interestingly enough right before I was able to post exactly what I'm posting now tongue.gif).

Having a system were people are going to vote for their friends, and people they chat to isn't the way to choose mods...a mod should be (and will be) chosen on their ability to be level headed, unbiased, and dedicated enough to stick with the job. I'm not saying the current mods aren't friendly of course...I'm just saying that it shouldn't be the difining criteria, which it would be in a vote.

I missed the part where the board heirarchy became a democracy anyway...it's a forum, and Saru is the one who has to deal with everyone who becomes a mod...they say is, and should remain, with him who has had to work with.

That sums it up exactly, allowing people to vote for who the moderators are is a very bad idea.
