Being a mod shouldn't be a popularity contest...it should be about who can do the job (that would probably be why the pole you put up early was deleted, interestingly enough right before I was able to post exactly what I'm posting now

Having a system were people are going to vote for their friends, and people they chat to isn't the way to choose mods...a mod should be (and will be) chosen on their ability to be level headed, unbiased, and dedicated enough to stick with the job. I'm not saying the current mods aren't friendly of course...I'm just saying that it shouldn't be the difining criteria, which it would be in a vote.
I missed the part where the board heirarchy became a democracy anyway...it's a forum, and Saru is the one who has to deal with everyone who becomes a mod...they say is, and should remain, with him who has had to work with.
