I had watched a movie a few years ago about two girls and a picture of fairies, it seems like either the movie said it was a true story or someone told me it was its hard to remember now... i think it had something to do with Cottingley i dunno anyway if anyone knows anything about it let me know

I know the ones you're talkin about. Those have been debunked many times, and if you search for them,(google or yahoo)then you will see that they have been proven to be fake. This was proven quite a long time ago actually...

I remember also...it wasn't a hoax...just an odd picture.
On another note...in some places in Ireland they believe in faeries.
They believe that the faeries live within a certain kind of tree (forgotten the name) and that it's very bad luck to cut one down. If one is cut down then that person or people die within a year.
Funny enough, the trees (when exposed), have a maze of tunnels within them that scientists so far cannot explain.
The tunnels are not formed by ants, termites or any other creature that they are aware of.

They weren't proven fake somuch as the surviving girl admitted the truth before she died. She claims they did the photos to prove to people who didn't believe them.

Yes, the Cottingley Fairies were fake. They were papper cutouts. If you find and look at the pictures you'll see they're incredibly obvious paper cutouts, too..The real mystery is how they ever fooled anyone with them.

Hello Everyone...
This Cottingley Faeries story annoys me. I heard that Elsie, the oldest cousin, before her death said that they really did see faeries but when they reported it, everyone expected proof, so yes, they did fake the photographs. But that doesn't disregard the fact that they DID witness faeries. The girls had a lot of pressure from a family friend to photograph the faeries. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle got invloved, and before they knew it, the girls were in over their heads.
The faeiries in question were copied from a book, and I beleive Elsie was the artist, so she drew them, propped them up, etc.
But again, like I said, none of this disproved the possibility that the girls did she real faeries.

Uhh yeah right, so even though the fairy pics are a fake up crops the immediate explanation that "they did see them but needed proof so they fake the pics. This doesn't mean that they didn't see them!".
Puhleeze...
So everyone who has faked nessie/bigfoot etc pics could also have seen them... yet faked the pics to help their case?
Right...

Well I don't really take the whole fairy thing sereiously but Mad Manfred, that thing you mentioned with the trees....that's pretty interesting. I think I'm going to Look that up.

Maybe what people really see are fireflies.

How could someone mistake a firefly for something that supposedly looks just like a human only smaller and with wings, but then again, my idea of fairies could be very skewed, I don't know much about the subject.

just think of what tinkerbell looked like, they would have to be really small to live in a tree and supposedly they have a glow to em.

I completely agree. They were so 2-D looking, and posed 'just so'.
I have to admit I wish that sort of stuff was real.

Unicorns, fairies, mermaids... things that don't have nearly the semi-credibility as ghosts, aliens, and sea/lake monsters.
I will always be 11 at heart.

Those 'fairies' are so dumb,i can't believe some people actually think that those pics of those fake fairies are real. There is no argument about if those are real. They have been proved fake.Check on yahoo or google and you will see that they have been proven to be fake.
