OK, this is pretty simple reason simply click on the following link and do the tests, importantly write down the times that you get and post it on here, as it will help me greatly!
Also could you post your age and sex if you don't mind!

Thankyou to spooks for helping me do one set of results, unfortunately I need many many more, and normally on here if you post something it at least gets one reply and thats for much more trivial matters than someone's coursework, needless to say I'm a bit miffed that no one care spare 45 seconds to help someone else.

Hello Ames
its a pretty cool effect....I wonder why it does that, I really had to concentrate on the second set
Word set 1: 12.198 sec
Word set 2: 25.637 sec
Female, 24 years old
by curiosity, why do you need the people to write the results here.....you have the results on that site too?? is it because of the age, sex?
ames2787
Jan 6 2005, 07:29 PM
at last thankyou!
It's to do with attention and the fact that your brain wants to read the word because you've been brought up to do that as it were

Cos that's not my site, that's just where the test is.
I'm collecting the results for my psychology coursework.

no problem
and thank you for the answer....now I have to go and destroy something I have learned again

and perhaps I will do better next time
but by curiosity, cant you just take the result from that site??...over 30 000 answered there. That would save you all that trouble

I'll try it later, I promise. For some reason on this computer it takes a long time to load, and it's affecting my time.

Hi Ames,
My times were 19.39
29.484
Female, 35
I think I was a bit slow in the first one because I was expecting the words and colours not to match so my mind was thrown.
Also with the second part, how does the time work against errors? I made sure I read out each one correctly but what if someone didn't pick up any errors they were about to make and kept going, their time would be different.
