I live about 100klms from Sydney in a suburb which is surrounded on all sides by dense bush. We consist of 2 streets and our closest suburb is 7klms away.
The bush comes upto within 3 mtres to our deck.

Well let me tell you Tia, I believe you have guts...I'm not that old in age and if I were you, I'd be scared as hell! To live in an environment in a forest (I believe), their could be hundreds of creatures...Its nice and relaxing their but I'd be pretty scared...

Guts , I'm a wuss. Our biggest threat here besides the snakes would be bushfire. We're in one of the top high risk areas as it hasn't burnt here in over 10yrs.
I actally took Ruby and the dog for a couple of late night walks the other week, hoping to entice anything out. No luck . It 's been quiet here for the last 6mths.

I love that web-site. I found my small town in Texas too.
I've been pretty shaken up because now a lot of my friends understand the sounds they hear in the country by the river, lakes, streams and orchards.
But after reading about how my Indian relatives, live with them, I was more relaxed. It's all about your Attitude towards creatures in general.

i also live in the forest but only see normal animals like foxes, wolves,bear...etc id be a little freaked out if i were being stalked by something..

The truth is, just have to live life. It would be great to live in a forest and all, but their are all kinds of creatures, new and old. Don't think I would be able to survive, especially with all the natural animal noises being made, loud bear roars in the middle of the night!

lol. bears only really roar when threatened, around here all i hear are birds,squirrels and the odd small animal during the night..

Luckily we don't have bears over here. Seeing a bear would freak me out more then a yowie.

Yeah....Considering the fact that we know much more about bears and how violent they could be contrasted to Yowie which we basically don't know anything about...Unless! They could be the same thing...Haha
