I have a college degree(applied sciences)with not a lot of extensive training in biology or zoology. I have spent over 20 years tracking animals. I would like a chance to track for a crypto expedition. 2 different times I have tracked and found species that were supposedly non existent in my area(wolf:mountain lion). I would appreciate anything anyone could help me with.

hmm, sounds pretty interesting. I don't know anything about tracking, but maybe you could use your experience to trakc a bigfoot, since it seems the easiest to track. btw welcome to UM new guy!

Hi deerfly, if you don't want to join an already established research group here's some things you could try for yowie/ sassy.
Find a hot spot....an area that has a lot of activity.
Expect to spent a lot of time finding nothing.
Look out for signs that are commonly found associated to a sassy.
Scent can be used, I've heard of deer scent and also another, from women.
Mainly it's a waiting game, night time seems to be a better time.
If your lucky you may hear one around you, from all accounts sassy/ yowies try to avoid people so the odds aren't very good.

perhaps if someone was sent out into the forest wearing an ape suit maybe a bigfoot would come near them and not be so afraid

sounds to me like all u need is to find a hot spot like Tia said ...get some night vision goggles and a nice high treefort maybe on the edge of a glade or meadow...then just be patient...and avoid eating things that make alot of noise ie chips

or put up motion sensor cameras all over the forest

i gree with tia regarding about scent. this is what most hunters do to confuse the animals
while tracking in the forest.

make sure you rub and apply onto your equipments, clothings and yourself, with leaf and roots of plantations that is available in the particular area of search. but it is advisable to apply a moderate layer of mud onto your skin.

this methods are supposed to coverup the scent of your equipments and your human presence. the mud is a good protection againts mosquitos and bugs and keeps your body aura cool.

these methods, always works in the tropical forest, that produce rewards.

becareful though, some plants are itchy and make sure you do some homework on this.

I have over 20 years experience hunting and tracking. I am fully aware of techniques, styles, equipment, etc. What I do not know is-expeditions that I could offer my services to. I don't have the resources to start my own expedition but I would be a part of any type of cryptid "hunt".

i hope to do the same... but i guess i should at least wait till i graduate high skool.... most likely even 4 o so yers of college....MANN my life is gonna be all wasted in school....so depressing

u can still start your own expidition...you just need to find a funder to help you...someone with lots of many and conections who is just as eager as urself to find these cryptids...but lacks the tracking capabilities and your experience in the wild...

...but then again maybe ive watched the movie atlantis one to many times lol

What I would do is get a gun,GPS,food,water,and go into the forest to look for bigfoot and shoot bullets if it trys to attack me if not ill put it two sleep.
