They're production plans to make a spoof version of Jesus Christ Superstar, with Marilyn Manson in talks to play a pot-smokeing king of man.
This is set to offend a lot of people, I think.

I don't get the people that are offended by things like these. If you know it's not true or just don't agree with it, don't involve yourself with it. It reminds me of something that happened in France. Some guy sent his son to a catholic school and then filed a lawsuit against them because there were crucifixes placed throughout the school, and he and his son were athiest. Now how stupid is that?

It was filmed in my city Walken, with several very familiar faces of the city making guest star appearances, like the punk bartender of the Dominion Tavern down the road playing a Bishop, with his trademark huge red spike mohawk.
Bliss.

Yes, I believe Manson gave himself this title: Anti-Christ, Superstar.
I think a movie like this may actually educate some people.

I think many stupid people fail to understand that they have an on and of button on there remote control, and a turning over button, and that no one forces anyone to see these things.
Why cant Manson play Jesus ? Are some people forgetting that when people play characters in plays and movies, that they are only actors, and are not really the person they are playing (sighs).
The worlds full or people that think how they are told to think, so if a extremist leader tells its robotics like sheep to protest about this, then they will do it like programmed computers. There are people killing women and children for oil, the planets in grave danger because of human beings greed for money and power, and you have these so called "religious people" complaining about this (hello is anybody home?)
If the pope played Satan in a movie would there be complaints from Satanists? No there would be complaints by the very same religious extremists, coincidence? No because they complain about everything and everyone, that doesn’t think in a robotic manner that they do, because they have no lives, and need to get a hobby, or actually do something with there time and energy, like help people in need, instead of wasting everyone’s time moaning about something that just don’t matter.

On the offensive front let me observe this? How many of the people who think Christians shouldn't be offended or should just get over it would watch a movie about the Holocaust starring Richard Simmons as Hitler? Or how about one about the Salem Witch Trials co staring Jerry Fallwell and Jack Chick? The reason they are putting Manson in the title role is to piss people off(unless I'm very much mistaken). To be quite honest I find it quite crass not simply because he's being given the part but because it sounds very much like they're going to trash Christianity and Jesus. Which is of course one of the worlds number one pass times these days.
Does that mean I think they shouldn't be allowed to make it or show it? Nope to big a fan of the first ammendment for that. Does that mean I'll personally picket it? No I've got better things to do with my time. Does that mean I think others shouldn't protest it? No they've got as much right to protest the movie as the film makers have to make it. I can guarantee the film makers have no complaints about people boycotting the movie or writting articles or even protesting it? Why well lets face it people like Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell bad mouthing some thing is one of the most powerful endosements in existence for most of the population. People will rush to see it just because the religious right tells them not to. Frankly I think that a lot of companies could save time and money just by hiring a bunch of religious fanatics to do there thing.

Well if you think about it logically the anti christ should be a woman
She should be in the political field
she should be thought of by the general population as a right on kind of person
She should have an unseen power over world events
Sounds like Barbara Bush to me
Why hasn't anyone connected her to all this yet
Because she's the antichrist and you're not supposed to realise until its too late
Having the power to influence the two most powerfull men on earth must stand for something
Right ?
You heard it here first

I love Jerry Falwell (not fallwell) he promotes sin

he made Hustler magazine twice as famous than it already was, he give free advertising to all of these "wrong doers"

I love how irony always comes back and bites the fool on the butt.
Falwell is a Nazi, that wants everyone to be unhappy and suppressed.
Jerry Falwell in a movie about the Salem witch trials? what a good Idea kevenM, copyright that, you could be on to a winner there

That would not offend me in the slightest, in fact it might even give Jerry a chance to see the horrors and pain that people like him with his judgmental beliefs have caused to others in the past and still continue to do.
Things like war, rape, murder, and the destruction of the planet offend me.

Honestly I like Falwell to. Hes one of the funniest people in the world and an excelent source on whats good for kids and adults: basicly about 99% of the things he says are bad should be watched or played as often as possible. Honestly I'd rather not see him in a movie abut the Salem Witch Trials because if he had any thing to do with it I doubt it'd paint them in a historicaly accurate light.

Folks, I think the plans for the movie are cancalled; something about a lack of funding.
Intrestingly enougth, Marilyn Manson also opted for the role of Willy Wonka in tim burtons remake. The part went to Mr. Depp, with Mr. Walken a close seond, and Mr. Keaton a third.

Yeah, I read a write-up on him. He had dreams as a child that he WAS the anti-christ, and he's at the very least, trying to portray himself as such in a mocking way.
