I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that we need more aid sent to the victims of Katrina, however his lashing out did absolutely nothing to ease the situation over there and it only caused friction between the races.

In a recent statement to MTV, 50 Cent made the following statements about Kanye West claiming that the success of the Chicago rapper Kanye West is directly because of and related to 50 Cent's rise in popularity.

"After 50 Cent, [hip-hop fans] was looking for something non-confrontational, and they went after first thing that came along. That was Kanye West." — 50 Cent

"I feel like Kanye West is successful because of me," he said. "After 50 Cent, [hip-hop fans] was looking for something non-confrontational, and they went after first thing that came along. That was Kanye West, and his record took off."

50 Cent recently released "The Massacre: Special Edition" which contains a DVD with exclusive videos to all songs on the album.

This guy loves himself too much. Maybe a "First Church of 50 Cent" would feed his giant ego rolleyes.gif

Its getting to him...

...just wait, he's gonna lose a freestyle battle soon.
Super Pancake
laugh.gif 50 is full of of himself! He still ain't proven to me yet why I should get his album.
DarkSinister
He actually said that? HAHAHA! Man, 50 and his ego needs a reality check.. I wonder how kanye will respond to that.
_hAiLO_
50's going to lose a lot of fans if Kanye West goes against him. People tend to go towards the 'spiritual' type of mainstream when it comes to whose the better artist original.gif

...I like 50 cents...it's enough for a phone call grin2.gif

Top rap albums: http://www.billboard.com/bb/charts/rap_albums.jsp

Jeezy hasn't gone Gold yet, the Black Eyed Peas and Mike Jones are the only ones platinum....so much for Slim Thug's 'Already Platinum'.
Super Pancake
that link was funny, and that one chick was cute too!

Its september and I'm wondering was I under a rock all this summer what was the summer anthem this year? Or there was not one this summer?
_hAiLO_
I don't think so. I think the summer belonged to the songs that ranged from Pop to Rock. Like Kelly Clarkson, Green Day, or Mariah Carey. I don't think a rapper took it this year.

Last year was probably Usher or Terror Squads 'Lean Back', but I don't know anymore.
Super Pancake
Your probably right Kelly clarkson fans been all over the place and green day their cool!

But the thing is people were not dancing to these songs.
FLY SPITTA
Just wanted to say all I'm making a cd dissing another rap group in my town cause they dissed my group. Anyone want to hear my tracks PM me
_hAiLO_
You take'em 2PAC!! Its the Quality, not quantity that wins. But in certain situations, its good to have a bigger crew.

Hardcore beats, and sick rhymes...you must be pretty nervous to actually be dissing another actual rap group.

I suggest you stay above all of that....dissing is just so....well.......

............juvenile...

How about this idea....instead of 'dissing' them back...find one thing you like about them and rap that...

...something like...

...they dissing me, but I think they're cool, but my momma didn't raise no fool...that "insert any rappers name here" has an awesome flow...they can dis my rappin' but I ain't playin' cause I like what I'm hearin' and I ain't got time...for no fearin'...no tearin' cause I'm dissed...I ain't hearin' the beat from their hatin'...got no time for the hatin'...go no time for the hatin' ..the hatin' ..the hatin'......
Super Pancake
I like joc's suggestion, you should not have to start a rap war with a group. Keep it positive, that what we need in hip-hop now.

Do these clowns really bother you? if they do and their seriously playing your group that you could lose fans, then get em hard!

Your right about the pop artist thing, but Kanye West is better lyrically. And since the only phrases 50 can say are like 'your going down <explicit>, suck my <explicit>', Kanye could probably make punchlines that will make the crowds head turn.

But in all serisousness, I really don't want Kanye West to get involved. I want the general public to decide who ultimatly is the better artist.
DarkSinister
Whoa, what happened, this thread just went dead! Well i found something for you guys to read...

Cassidy Re-Charged With First Degree Murder, Defense Says Rapper Is Innocent
A first degree murder charge has been reinstated against Philadelphia, Pennsylvania rapper Cassidy.

A judge overturned an earlier, lower court’s decision that Cassidy could only be tried for no more than third-degree murder.

Prosecutors accuse the rapper of masterminding a shooting behind his row home in the Cedarbrook section of Philadelphia.

Cassidy and Desmond Hawkins, 22, were involved in a dispute at a Rite Aid drug store earlier in the day on April 15, 2005.

When the men showed up at Cassidy’s house to “make peace,” prosecutors claim Cassidy directed them to the back, where the men where ambushed.

Hawkins was fatally wounded, while Daniel Irvin, 22, and Bobby Hoyle, 21, suffered serious injuries, but have since recovered.

The rapper surrendered the authorities in the middle of June, almost a week before the June 28 release of his sophomore effort, I'm a Hustla.

Hoyle has testified that he lied to detectives when he claimed to have seen Cassidy firing a weapon. He also testified detectives coached him through his statement.

Hoyle told authorities he and the other two men were unarmed at the time of the shooting, but recently revealed ballistics evidence revealed that at least 12 shots came from inside of the van.

The evidence also revealed four guns were fired into the van from four other points, but Cassidy is the only person charged in the case so far.

The judge that delivered the ruling stated that a trial judge or a jury must rule what the appropriate degree of murder would be in the case.

Cassidy’s defense is looking to capitalize on the weakness of the evidence and stated he was ready to go to trial immediately.

"Everyone should be afforded a fair opportunity for a speedy trial, especially when there's overwhelming evidence of innocence, as there is in this case," Cassidy’s Lawyer Fortunato Perri said.

Cassidy faces the death penalty in the most extreme scenario and could be sentenced to at least 20 years in prison.
_hAiLO_
Well, I for one think Cassidy should go to jail and see how hard life can really be before talking about how glorifying it is to be a gangster. I can bet any of you that the Jury will deem Cassidy Guilty grin2.gif

And yes, this thread has fallen for quite some time. I guess not a lot in the hip-hop industry has happened. Its all a stalemate I guess, everything so calm and peaceful...and me listening to underground just the way I like it grin2.gif . Except the thing about hip-hop being silent..
FLY SPITTA
Cassidy should be away for a while...
_hAiLO_
Wu-Tang's going underground!! grin2.gif

http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_...t_id=1001219775

And for other news, Kanye's "Late Registration" keeps it strong by holding the number 3 spot in the Billboard Charts as Tony Yayo falls to 37th place grin2.gif
Super Pancake
Both albums are whack, I quickly got tired of kanye and its no suprise tony yayo is 37th, he shouldn't even make the chart.
_hAiLO_
However, is Wu-Tang Clan good at all?

their usually good, but alot of people think their gay for some reason cause they got a lot of dudes in their group. no.gif
_hAiLO_
So does Hieroglyphics, and a lot of people like them.

And I really can't stand to say this any longer, the Rap industry has gotten a little...dull...yes? Sometimes I'm listening to Hieroglyphics and Sage Francis songs, but mostly i've been listening to Movie Composed music for the last few weeks now...John Williams, Marco Beltrami, Hans Zimmer...have any of you done this?
Super Pancake
I'm not all that sure, I stop listening to wu-tang when Method Man decided to go solo, and old dirty bastard got locked up.

I pretty much stopped listening to rap music also since my friend is a hardcore rap fan i'll just let him do all the work finding the must haves hip-hop albums.

As for me I'm just getting a lot of Jazz, indian/hindu/pakistani/japanese clasical, experimental, j-pop, alternative rock, hip-hop instumental, and asian underground music.
_hAiLO_
The mass drift from hip-hop doom is coming ohmy.gif

lol yall never heard of apathy,az, etc etc, if u want to hear real rap pick up killer mikes album, prob best album of year, but no publicity for album
DarkSinister
ehh i havent been listening to hip hop for awhile...been listening to slow jams and R&B cuts. I havent heard much of anything pleasing to the ear from hip hop recently, but i still listen to the old cuts. Whatever happened to all the beef with g unit and everyone else? did it just die off? hahaha, that was a lame battle.

As for Yayo's album, i knew he'd flopped...did anyone here even buy his album?
Super Pancake
I did not buy that crap! but for some reason the reviews are favorable.

As for the beef I guess they don't care no more or maybe I just don't care to know if the beef is still on.

during my summer vacation I heardthis radio station down in the south Atlanta GA. 88.5 its a radio staion from Georgia State university. they play the best underground hip-hop and hip-hop instrumentals I ever heard. they got a website but they don't put up their playlist so I don't know who the artist are. I've e-mailed them and asked them for the playlist and still waiting for a reply.

I'll post whatever I can get from them

According to Billboard.com, Kanye West's 'Late Registration' made 2X Platinum, and is holding strong at #5. Young Jeezy, 1X Platinum at #15. Tony Yayo however, isn't even in the top 50 anymore. Tony Yayo's 'Thoughts of a Predicate Felon' is currently at #57, the guy never even sold 500,000 albums, didn't even go Gold. Even Pretty Rick went Gold, lol. I guess 50's pretty pissed at him right now because he didn't make a lot of cash grin2.gif

Good luck Yayo rolleyes.gif

G-G-G-GGGGGGGGGG-Unot!

Not to be a complete meanie, but please understand. Last time I checked, New Yorkers hated Yayo, and you can ask one yourself (Super Pancake). And last time I checked, the entire world hated Yayo, you can check Billboard.com or scroll above to 2PAC's post.

But people bootlegging Yayo's disc? Then a lot of people must have given a lot of respect to Kanye because I think his disc is copy protected. Artists lose 25-33% of thier potential profits from music theft on the internet, blackmarket, etc. I think both Kany and Yayo's CD would have been affected the same way.

With respect I mean, i'm not trying to start a fight dontgetit.gif
